Project 365 – Week Twenty

Sunday, May 9th
Our tomato seedlings are taking off! And Dr. M planted some yarrow seeds too. You should see it today – I am amazed at how fast things grow once they get going. I'll have another picture one day next week.

Monday, May 10th
On Monday Dr. M took some wildflower pictures. I love unexpected color as you're driving along!

Tuesday, May 11th
On Tuesday I finished the book I was reading (A Fortunate Child, by Elizabeth Wix from World Examining Works – excellent book!) & now I'm ready to start the next one. I'm a bit of a Nora Roberts fanatic – I've pretty much read every book she's ever written plus all the ones under her J.D. Robb pen name.

Wednesday, May 12th

Martha Goose would like to say Congratulations to all the graduates out there!

Thursday, May 13th

Here's Mr. Pig again – but now I think maybe it's really a girl pig who sometimes dresses as a boy. I don't know – transgendered maybe?

Friday, May 14th

On Friday Dr. M grilled chicken & corn, which we ate with rice & my dad's green beans. It was SO GOOD!

Saturday, May 15th

Today we took a road trip to Ripley, Ohio to visit the Parker House and the Rankin House – both rather important stops on the Underground Railroad. This trip deserves its own post, so you'll just have to wait to see the pictures. But here are two other pictures from the day. The first one is a snake we saw on the road on our way down from the Rankin House – I'm glad I was in the car!!

The second picture is a riot of flowers in front of one of the churches in Ripley – gorgeous!

  1. oh I miss my garden!!! This house doesn't have a spot for one.

I have several friends that love reading Nora Robert's books...I need to get one....any suggestions on where to start?

  2. Dear The Bug,
I'm with Sara! I miss my garden and I love Nora Roberts.

I don't know which ones you will recommend, but:

I liked Angel Falls, Montana Sky, and Blue Smoke. I think they are all in paperback now.

I like to read the J.D. Robb in order. Bug, you will like this one too!

  3. I love Tuesday! What photo editing software do you use to put those borders/frames around the pictures. Love that!

We're finally at work on a garden. HooRAYYYYY! Much as I love home-grown tomatoes they don't satisfy the aesthete gene within. KWIM?

  6. That food looks really yummy on that plate. You reminded me that I need to get some prettier plates. Our weather has been too wet to get out and about and enjoy the flowers. Some day I want to read Nora Roberts.

  7. I like the books that Ann mentions, but I also really like to read her trilogies - I always want to know what happens after "happily ever after." I'll have to consider what my favorite ones are & get back to you guys.

See, you can tell I have no kids - I didn't even recognize Angelica although of course that's her!

  8. Glad your garden is off to a good start!
I've never read any Nora Roberts either.
So funny to see the attire changing on Martha and the pig!
    Have a super week!!

  9. OK, this is one of my favorite trilogies (I love some of the ones with ghosts & witches, but figured you might want something NON occult). Sea Swept, Rising Tides & Inner Harbor - all part of the Chesapeake Bay trilogy.

  10. Transgender pig?! LOL
    Lovely flower photos.
We still haven't planted our winter garden. Not sure it's going to happen. Life's just too busy!
Not sure I've read a Nora Robert book (or J.D. Robb although I love mysteries). I'm a big fan of J.A. Jance with her Beaumont detective novels and her Joanna Brady sheriff novels (but not her newer series).
I've been dowloading free books offered on amazon and have been singularly UNimpressed with the quality of "christian" literature out there. Where are the Lewises and Tolkiens of today?!! After finishing a poorly written novel over the last few days, I want to go read Chaim Potok or something.

I'm not a fan of snakes either. Yep, having a car between you and a snake is a good thing! I have a great snake story from our time in Africa...will have to blog about it sometime :-)

Thanks for stopping by - I'd love to hear what you have to say!

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
