2012 Project 365 – Week Eleven

Well, I do think that the possibility of snow has passed. That’s right – I’m just putting it out there on a dare – come on Mother Nature – prove me wrong! (Did I just wish for snow? Has anyone checked my temperature lately?). Well, whatever, I still enjoyed the signs of spring that we saw this week.

Sunday, March 11th
Gracie Lamb is a wee bit concerned about my new hobby.

I took a walk in the evening. This family is ready for St. Patrick’s Day. And football? Or are they saying that the Bengals are the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Are they delusional?

I saw actual crocuses just down the block from our house!

Monday, March 12th
Dr. M took this picture of a train – I love how it looks like it’s out in the middle of a field.

Tuesday, March 13th
I love this little pan – it’s perfect for me to fry an egg…

…to fit on my bagel thins…

The State of the Bug, on my way home from work. Wishing my audio book would just finish with the sex scene already & get back to the mystery!

Dr. M took a picture of fat doves in the tree. His caption for the picture when he posted it on Facebook: There's some cooin' and wooin' goin' on in the neighborhood today!

Wednesday, March 14th
I took a lot of pictures today, which you can see here. Since I already posted them, here are the ones the Dr. M took. The morning moon…

Doe & friends in the early morning light.

Bare-branched tree against the morning sky – the moon is a little bit higher in the sky in this picture.

Then on his way home, he took this picture of an egret standing in the sunset…

Thursday, March 15th
When I got to work I saw this sky – gorgeous!

But then the clouds rolled in & we had thunder & lightening & a gulleywasher of a storm!

Meanwhile, Dr. M was making the acquaintance of the red wing blackbirds that have returned to the area.

Friday, March 16th
I tried to get a Tax Time Pig picture, unfortunately it wasn’t quite light yet. Anyway, you can see the effect of the house & all the decorations - & I realized that there are TWO geese – one on the porch & one on the driveway behind the pig.

A fuzzy closeup.

Dr. M was more successful with his pictures of flowers…

Saturday, March 17th
Today Dr. M had to be on campus for a meet & greet with prospective students. I decided to tag along. Here is the good Doctor in his natural habitat.

After he went to the student center I had a little fun.

But mostly I did this. I still don't quite have the hang of the ends of rows (perhaps I should be counting?), but I like it anyway. I think I'll be done in about two more skeins.

After we got home I decided to take some St. Patrick's Day pictures - these are from a small patch of clover in our back yard - enjoy!

Go to Sara’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!

Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. He also takes pictures with our old reliable 7 megapixel Canon Powershot A710.  The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. The picture of the kitty staring at your yard is priceless. It could inspire a great short story.

  2. I guess I don't know a lamb from a kitty. I guess I should spend more time out in the country.

  3. Your abode looks quite cozy, and the occupants obvioulsy know how to have fun. Dr. M's desk looks like mine....just cluttered enough, but not too much. It's a fine line, but I think he nailed it. :)

  4. You just reminded me of a prayer shawl I knitted once that ended up being really crooked because I was watching tv and not counting right...but being perfect is overrated. How did you find so many four leaf clovers?

  5. Finding four-leaf clovers is Danabug's superpower. Her scarf is going to be GREAT! Our abode is quite cozy...and silly. Thanks, Lowandslow! I take pride in my just right clutter :-)

  6. I cannot believe you found four leaf clovers...you definitley have the luck of the Irish. Loved all the birds...the red winged blackbird was gorgeous. I so look forward to seeing your shots each week....you looked quite cute in Dr. M's graduation tam.

  9. Flowers popping up all over Blogland :) I always looked for the crocuses, daffodils, forsythia... It was the sign that Spring had arrived! For y'all it's rather early this year, for sure.

Although there is still the possibility that snow might make a late season appearance. You just never know in the Midwest!

    Have a great week!

  10. Great week!

Love that you want to fast forward through the steamy parts.

Your crocheting looks awesome! My two cents worth, I think you are right. Especially when you are going side to side like that in short rows it is very easy to loose count and either add a stitch or drop a stitch. My rule of thumb, I would make sure you every couple of rows stop and give a quick count and that way you can try to keep even all the way down!

    Great week!

  12. Haha! "perhaps I should be counting?" that's funny! Love that yarn! I'm making a scarf right now, too. But knitting it. And it's solid black. (Booorrrrrring.)

I MUST have an eency weency pan like that someday.

  14. I'm a lamb & yarn lover - so that first picture spoke to my heart :)

I LOVE my little pan like that as well. I usually have an egg sandwich every day on an English Muffin with that baby! YUMMY!!!

  15. Ha! Just read or heard this week something like "Anyone who looks for four-leaf clover has too much time to on their hands." ;)
How do you take such good photos of yourself??? Do you have a camera positioned/stationed? And are you driving at the same time, and listening to audio?!!!
    So now you are crocheting!
What an amazing Bug you are ;) !

  16. I love watching your scarf grow. Don't worry if it appears uneven: blocking hides a plethora of imperfection. Besides, I've been told that to expect perfection in my knitting is an impossible thing.

Those storms on Thursday were awful.

  17. A busy week as usual! I have to read up on this "Tax Time Pig." I've always been a bit confused about what that is!

  18. OK! I found the background on the Tax Time Pig:

    Much happier now. :)

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
