2012 Project 365 – Week Fifteen

I would like to apologize for the number of pictures this week. But, really, I’m apparently not sorry because I’m posting them anyway. Heh.

Sunday, April 8th Easter Sunday
Flowers from church, plus a very special deviled egg.

In the afternoon I went to visit a local park for a bit.

I was on the lookout for this flower, but I didn’t go far enough down the trail. Fortunately someone left one behind for me to see.

Monday, April 9th
Robin & starling fight! I think the robin won.

Tuesday, April 10th
I did the 10 on 10 dealio – you can go here to check it out. I’ll just share this one picture – The State of the Bug – crosseyed!

Wednesday, April 11th
Dr. M took some lovely pictures today.

Thursday, April 12th
Surprise flowers that popped up behind the yarrow.

Friday, April 13th
Well, it might have been Friday the 13th, but apparently it was really “take a ton of pictures” day. Here’s the early morning moon, by Dr. M.

More flowers around his campus.

The Tax Time Pig wearing his namesake outfit!

Here are his minions– very blurry pictures. There is one goose who lives on the porch & one by the carport. I’ve still not named them. Maybe I’ll get brave one of these days & stop & ask the folks if they have names for them.

They’re building a UFO down the street from where I work! My boss says that this is how they build water towers. I’ll be driving by periodically to check out the progress.

I finished the scarf! Thank goodness – it was getting OUT OF CONTROL! I’m calling it The Bug’s Winding River pattern, for obvious reasons. Maybe someday someone can show me what I’m doing wrong.

Grackles have a goofy name & a bad reputation – but I love their iridescent colors.

Saturday, April 14th
It’s a rainy day today. Perfect for all the things I want to get done (clean out my closet, for one thing).

Bug incognito. One last picture of the scarf before I put it in the closet. I’m hoping that it will be cold enough next winter to wear it (this does not mean that I want a Little Ice Age type freeze!).

Go to Sara’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!
Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. He also takes pictures with our old reliable 7 megapixel Canon Powershot A710.  The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. That scarf makes you look like an international woman of mystery.

  2. Maybe you didn't do anything wrong on the scarf...you just created a new pattern. I love it!

  5. I am so fond of your tax pig! And those bird fight pictures are amazing! Lori at Lori times five is a great knitting teacher, if you really want to get told, but when I start off crocheting (a kangaroo with baby is my latest creation - looking very UNUSUAL indeed) I always chuckle at the results, too, so why change anything?

  6. see - i just knew there was more than one duck, or goose - or whatever. And again you can see in the window behind Barry (or Larry) that there are stuffed toys aplenty in the windows - so whoever these people are they like their ornaments

Barry and Larry The Wonder Ducks?

You must NEVER ask the owners of the house for their real names - it would spoil all the fun!

Having said that - i am intrigued...

  7. Could hardly wait to get over here and see your pictures. The flowers are gorgeous...and the birds are awesome. The blackbirds eyes just seem to pop. Tell Dr. M I love his moon shots. Love that scarf. The colors are so fun. Have a great week.

  8. The face on the boiled egg made me laugh. Nice one. :)

BTW....I nominated you for a Sunshine Award. You can read about it on my blog.

  9. You know, I cannot remember the last time I had a devilled egg. Quelle tragique!

And now, if we have a bad winter next year, I KNOW WHO TO BLAME.

  14. The robin and starling fight is the very best. We have starlings but no robins except when they're migrating, so I have to depend on my bluejays for fights. Well, and the doves. You know. Those peaceful birds.

People who can crochet amaze me. I can cast-on a row on a knitting needle, but that's it. I do have some needlepoint projects I might take up some day. When I get some more free time. Maybe.

I do love the scarf. My aunt started one once and just kept going. She finally ended up using it in her cat's nest - wound it around and around. Silly lady. ;)

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
