2012 Project 365 – Week Thirty-three

It’s been a pretty quiet week around here. There was another sign that summer is almost over – Dr. M had to go to school this week for meetings & convocation in preparation for the start of classes next week.

Saturday, August 11th
Our heirloom Mr. Stripy tomatoes aren’t pretty but my goodness are they tasty!

Sunday, August 12th
Mr. & Mrs. Goldfinch had a date in our front hanging basket. You can read all about it in Dr. M’s post here.

Monday, August 13th
Our second sunflower is looking pretty. Hopefully the squirrel will leave this one alone.

The miniature rosebush has been so lovely all summer long.

You can read about this meal here.

Tuesday, August 14th
I followed this van on my way to work. I never did see what company it belonged to, but I had to laugh at the cows staring at me.

The bird feeders have been busy as usual.

Our pet chickens (actually these chickens seem to belong to the whole neighborhood – ha!)

Wednesday, August 15th
The State of the Bug – looking like a homeless fisherperson on Hat Day at work.

The Tax Time Pig – I wonder if this is what Jezebel looked like?

Sunflowers that Dr. M gets to see on his commute – so pretty.

Thursday, August 16th
Roses on Dr. M’s campus – I love their cotton candy lemonade colors. You should check out Dr. M’s post here with more rose pictures.

Common Buckeye butterfly.

I saw these frowny face cookies at a local bakery. They were marketing them to moms to put in back-to-school lunches. Of course I had to get some for Dr. M.

Friday, August 17th
Ah, a peaceful end to the week – these ladies know how to relax. Ha!

Go to Sara’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!

Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. I've seen snapshots of Jezebel, and this is exactly what she looked like. Uncanny!

  3. Your poem of Aug. 16 is fabulous! Do the chickens lay eggs?

  4. I think I said something like this before: those chickens are glamorous.

  6. ok, I had to laugh that they even put eyelashes on the pig!!! so funny!!!

Those cookies are a great idea!

love the picture of the sunflowers. When we lived in North Dakota, we would see miles of sunflower fields...so beautiful!

  7. Loved every single picture. Was so glad to see tax time pig. The plate of fruit looked delightful. The sunflowers were gorgeous. Ours here succombed to the heat and looked pitiful. It was so sad to see ours with their heads hanging.

  8. Even painted cows look at you guys funny.

How lucky you are to have Chicken Visitors! Esp. those lovely Plymouth Rocks. I think all the neighbors who have so uncomplainingly contributed to the free-range diet of these fowl should also share in the product, whatever it may be.

  9. It has been my experience that the ugliest tomatoes are the tastiest!

Love the idea of a frowny face cookie - perfect for a lunch treat on any Monday, beginning of school, or any other unpleasant day.

  10. Snorting at that Tax Time Pig!! Too funny!

  11. Those 'maters look yummy! We're far enough into the winter season that any tomatoes we buy taste nothing like a tomato. So sad.

Those are pretty roses on campus. We have some in our yard that are mostly yellow with a hint of pink on the edges. I think pink and yellow are such a lovely color combination!

    Cute cookies!

  12. The miniature yellow roses look like the ones that were scattered across my senior prom dress, and the big, blowsy pink and yellow one looks like my mom's fav, that she grew outside the house.

Those are some fine looking chickens, too. I've become a big admirer of chickens. I might like to have a chicken, except I don't think they do well indoors and the cat wouldn't be pleased.

  13. maybe the van belonged to a Moo-ving company.....

The butterfly is a great shot, but i think what worries me most about TTP is that Whoever Is Responsible took the time to add false eyelashes!

  14. Loving your Tax TIme Pig all decked out in her finery. Jezebel had four legs and bit me on the nose when I was 3. Oh, wait, that was just grandpa's dog who went by the name of Jezebel.

  15. I'm just now making the round for last weeks 365, if that gives you an indication of my week.

Your tomatoes look awesome, I have just a few left on my counter.

Lunch looks very light and refreshing!

Love the goldfinches, they are one of my favorites!

    Blessings

Whoever has time to dress a pig should get a life, lol!

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
