2012 Project 365 – Week Forty-Four

We had snow and rain, cold and sunny skies, and one of the weirdest Halloweens ever! Dr. M has a post with a lot of the pictures I didn’t use here – and if you want to see any critters you’ll have to go there!
Saturday, October 27th
Dr. M took pictures of our mums today.

I went to the benefit I talked about here. Jenny was radiant – in fact her mother said that she didn’t look sick enough to need a benefit. But she was between chemo treatments so she was feeling pretty good, all considering. She had her last treatment this week.

Sunday, October 28th
We moved Pinky inside for the winter.

Monday, October 29th
Dr. M took pictures of what the middle of autumn looks like around here.

Tuesday, October 30th
This was the day our town was having Beggar’s Night (Trick or Treating), but Sandy gave us this, so it was postponed until Saturday (see below about how that wasn’t such a hot idea).

So I pulled out my heavy winter gear. It tickles me to wear stuff that I made. On the other hand, all that wool is itchy!

I rarely wear these penguin earrings – they’re over an inch long – but I try to pull them out close to Halloween.

Water fowl enjoying the foul watery weather.

Wednesday, October 31st
My coworker Mary dressed as a junky with a monkey on her back. I told her that she should be drinking Red Bull so she could be jittery for the role.

I was a witch.

The State of the Bug, in my natural attire. Heh.

Thursday, November 1st
I saw this by the Kroger where I was getting gas – pretty!

It was such a pretty day & Dr. M got some nice pictures on his way home from work.

Friday, November 2nd
Dr. M was stopped on the side of the road Friday evening & took these shots. Lovely!

P.S. Here’s a preview of next week – Dr. M handing out candy on Saturday afternoon. In the wintry mix precipitation event that we were getting (while I sat inside & babysat laundry & worked on this post – ha!). We didn’t want to disappoint the kids!

Go to Sara’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!

Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. You make a mighty fine-looking witch!

I remember a blizzard on Halloween when we lived in New York (it was my youngest son's first Halloween and just got totally snowed out).

  2. You look so happy in your witch outfit. Like Glinda the Witch of the West, you m8st be a very good witch.

  3. Excellent witch costume. Funny about your Halloween penguin earrings -- my boss at the NYT had a pair of roach earrings that she pulled out every year at Halloween. (Because after all, when ELSE would you wear them?) At least penguins could conceivably be a bit more versatile. :)

  4. All the flowers are so beautiful and the sunset on Friday...gorgeous!!

That snow does NOT look nice. But oh, its coming so soon. :(

Love the scarf you made, too.

  6. Wise witch. Jeans make the broom riding so much easier than those long skirts.

  7. I highly recommend a longer broom handle for stability. You make a lovely witch, my dear. I just knew we were related!

  8. You got S**W? Poor thing. I would have taken to my bed for the day. Ugh.

Love the wordplay: waterfowl, foul watery.

As usual, beautiful flowers. And as usual, I am jealous.

  16. Great week. I know what you mean about wearing something you made yourself. After many years of knitting and crocheting I now have more scarves and hats than I can shake a stick at, but I feel really good to toss a scarf I made around my neck on a cold day...

    Bundle up and stay warm.
