2013 Project 365 – Week Eighteen

I had such a busy week, but I tried to take at least ONE picture each day my own self. So this week you have Dr. M’s gorgeous photos & then my stuff. Because you know you need to have more stuff in your life.

Sunday, April 28th
Dr. M & I cleaned out our closets to make a donation. I was going to say that we were going to need a bigger box, but he managed to get everything crammed in there & taped it up.

Stuff from the back yard. I especially love the squirrel tea party :)

Monday, April 29th
Heron!

Squirrel antics!

Tuesday, April 30th
Gorgeousness!

The herd.

I had to have the sheep & penguin – they’re from Walgreens (.99!). Too cute!

Wednesday, May 1st
This guy was on my monitor – yikes! He was kind of alarming to me, but looking at this close up all I can see is a cute monkey face :)

Pretty flowers…

Birds in the back yard.

Pinky the geranium (and her cardinal companion) finally got to go outside.

Thursday, May 2nd
Grackle taking a bath.

Friday, May 3rd
The State of the Bug – TGIF! And the first toe color of the season…

Geese.

This house is near Dr. M’s university. It was on the market forever. I had fantasies of winning the lottery & snapping that puppy up.

Saturday, May 4th
Today I went over to church to help do some weeding (& then came home & mowed – I was practically in tears thinking about how this day would have been inconceivable two years ago). I decided to take a few pictures of the flowers while I was there.

While I was doing that Dr. M was at graduation. On his way up there he drove by the puppy-cow daycare – they weren’t really awake yet.

Lovely blooming things…

After graduation Dr. M saw this Swallow-tailed Kite – a very rare sight in Ohio!

Go to Mamma Fran’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!

Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. He also takes pictures with our old reliable 7 megapixel Canon Powershot A710.  The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. Doesn't it feel wonderful when you clean out your closet and give stuff away? I need to do that, and soon.

I'm not sure I could have taken a picture of that spider, cute monkey face or not. I'm not really that afraid of spiders, but hairy ones give me the willies.

    1. Yeah, I can't really look at that picture :-)

    2. Oh I was looking at it with EXTREME caution! Especially after I saw it jumping around. Fortunately it's gone back into the murky recesses behing my desk - out of sight, out of mind!

  2. Fabulous photographs! I love your glow in the dark toys, but then I'm rather simple like that.

    The toes look wonderful!

    1. The toes do look wonderful, Rudee, and I have had the most fun playing with the toys! Interpret that through the lens of a husband with a very bad back of late...it's the simple pleasures that count when the more, um, complex ones are out of the question. TMI, I know...

    1. That's a decorative saucer (or Japanese) magnolia tree, also called a tulip tree by many. They are very popular, for good reason! Here in Ohio, we also have a lot of tulip poplars, a native tree, which are commonly called tulip trees but look completely different than these. I'll try to get some pics of one when they bloom later in the season.

    2. I have a black tulip magnolia in my front yard, and it is quite beautiful when those large, plum-colored petals burst into bloom.

  7. Our scissortail flycatchers are back now - love them. I just saw a newspaper article today that the cold up north has been keeping our migrants here for a little extra time and slowing down the arrival of those who are coming. But it will all even out.

That toenail polish is reminiscent of the iridescense on the butterfly in my blog. Do you flutter? Do you like flowers? Uh-huh. I thought so!

    1. I drive past this pasture every day, as do several of my colleagues. Over the years we noticed how the cows manage the calves in a sort of daycare fashion, with one or two cows tending the kids while the others graz. The puppy cows are SO cute during naptime. I take credit for coining the phrase "puppy cow"...oh, and there is also a great guard burro there!

  12. Love the birds in flight, the church collage, the old white house, the profuse blossoms, the sweet wild flowers, the running squirrels and the curious deer.
I probably missed something of all the beauty you had for us once again.
You felt compelled to join the color parade with sparkly green toes!
    Have a great week!

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
