2013 Project 365 – Week Twenty-Five

Well summer is here with summer-style humidity – ugh! I guess I’ll be wearing my hair like the State of the Bug below until September – ha! (Note: as per usual I typed “But” instead of “Bug” just now – maybe I should just change my blog to But’s Eye View.)
Sunday, June 16th
Cardinal antics.

Flowers in the yard.

A toad!

The moon!

Monday, June 17th
We have a medium-sized tomato right now. Who wants to place bets as to whether we get it before the squirrels do?

Hummer in the Hood.

Tuesday, June 18th
Flowers in the yard.

The daisies are starting their daisy dominance.

Sunset!

Wednesday, June 19th
The State of the Bug – bed head!

We went to the Reds game Wednesday night. We had a great time – our seats were up in the nosebleed section, but in the shadow & there was a nice breeze coming in off the river. We got to watch Jay Bruce hit a homer (Bruuuuce!), but left in the 11th inning because it was so late & we live an hour away. They ended up winning in the 13th.

The moon!

Thursday, June 20th
Yes, those are Christmas lights in this tree on Dr. M’s campus – I guess it saves the grounds crew some hassle in December.

Blue Jay/Squirrel tête-à-tête.

Pinky the geranium.

The moon!

Friday, June 21st
The daisy invasion is now complete.

Saturday, June 15th
Robin in the bath.

Look – a sparrow photobomb!

Our Easter Lily is so close to opening up. It looks so funny because the blossom is as big as the plant. Sadly, the twins didn’t make it.

I passed this sign in our neighborhood & had to get a picture of it. I wonder how many babies they sold & if they’re giving the unsold ones to Goodwill? I’m also very confused about what the “more” is. Toddlers? Teenagers?

Late addition - super moon eve!

Go to Mamma Fran’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!

Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. He also takes pictures with our old reliable 7 megapixel Canon Powershot A710.  The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. Sorry about the twins...the plant was broken, whether by animal or weeding husband, who can say. Hope the big 'un opens before something happens to it! The day lilies are coming on strong, too. And Pinky is outrageous.

  2. funny - i looked at the picture of the baby sale and wondered about the legality of that - and then saw your comment, so it looks like we think on similar lines!

There's so many great photos to pick from here - the flowers, the bird bath and the moon - but i think i'll go with the squirrel and the bird facing off High Noon style

  6. LOVE the robin bathing! Our parakeet does that and it is hilarious!

I always wonder, when I see a baby in a shopping cart, what aisle they found it on ... ha ha Those of us who are literalists are quite annoying to the rest of the world, but we think we are very funny!

  7. I LOVE your "bed head" picture...very cute! And I'm laughing at the bathing robins and the squirrel and blue jay having a talk ("Did you take my peanut?" - "No..."), but the picture of the toad is AWESOME!

  8. I saved that picture of the toad. I plan to print it so I can see it every day! Though the Tuesday sunset also was good.

BTW, I went to a Dbacks game Wednesday and saw them beat the Marlins. The Reds just beat us but we took 2 out of three so we won that series.

  9. Wow...crazy pics!! I saw the moon last night and thought of you two. Didn't have my camera with me, but I knew you'd have it covered. I like thinking of you as a bug better than a but. :)

  11. Thanks, Steve! Had to get down to toad's eye level for that one. As for the "Baby Sale," yeah, they may be selling, but we're not buying!

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
