2013 Project 365 – Week Forty-Three

Lingering summer flowers, fall foliage, & snow – we had it all this week!

Sunday, October 20th
Our flowers were still so lovely on Sunday…

We had High Tea for stewardship Sunday at church. I wore one of my grandmother’s hats.

They used these glass votive holders with roses in them as centerpieces. Love them!

Monday, October 21st
Morning moon…

Dr. M always sees plenty of wildlife on his commute.

Tuesday, October 22nd
Dr. M took some pictures on his campus. I love sweet gum trees.

Campus squirrel getting ready for winter – ha!

Wednesday, October 23rd
Today saw our first snow flurries of the season.

But by the time Dr. M headed home from school it had all melted.

I finished up some scarves that I put in the mail later in the week.

Thursday, October 24th
If you saw my Wordless Wednesday post you’ll be glad to note that the flowers seem to be doing fine the next day.

Dr. M saw more snow on his way home.

Friday, October 25th
It’s our Ohio…

Saturday, October 26th
This juvenile red shouldered hawk was in our back yard this morning. As Dr. M said on Facebook, the hawk “made a bold effort to have sparrow for breakfast. Epic fail.” And we have plenty of sparrows to spare – ha!

It was a fire pit kind of night…

Go to Mamma Fran’s blog here to see the blogs of all the other Project 365 participants. Have a great week!

Most of our photos are taken with a 12 megapixel Nikon D5000 DSLR, using a 55-200mm zoom lens. This is the camera that Dr. M takes with him most days. He also takes pictures with our old reliable 7 megapixel Canon Powershot A710.  The Bug uses our new Nikon Coolpix S6200 most of the time. If you’re interested in which camera was used for a particular shot, just ask!

  1. I just today notice the first signs of foliage change here. Not even close to snowflakes, though. Do I dare hope??? ;)

    1. Well, it's not unheard of, but I'd give it a few months before hoping too much :)

  3. The campus squirrel made me laugh! And I don't care what people say about snow, I always thought the first snow was exciting and beautiful. Just don't ask me what I thought of it in February...

    1. It was pretty warm. Autumn has been kind of low-key this year - I'm glad there are a few trees representing :)

  9. You have such blue, blue, skies and I'm so glad the flowers survived the snow!

And what a lovely idea -- high tea for stewardship celebration...well, really, high tea for any occasion!

That squirrel doesn't look belly-ready yet-- he'd better get to work!

    1. When the skies are clear up here, they are REALLY clear! The camera accentuates it a little, but honestly, they sometimes are that blue. That squirrel was busy trying to fatten up :-)

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
