2014 Project 365 – Week Thirty-six

I’m getting ready to drive to western NY tomorrow for work so I’m furiously working on this post at 10:00 at night. I was ruthless with my picture selections (which means that I have about the same number of pictures as I usually do – ha!) – hopefully Dr. M will do a post of some of the fabulous pictures he took last Sunday. He DID! Go here first, then come back, okay?

Sunday, August 31st
Another day at Lake Erie. We went to a wetlands area to take a walk – it was a bit longer than we thought it was going to be. But it was cool because the walk was fish shaped. Heh.

After that we stopped at the visitor center for the area & Dr. M took pictures of one of their eagles.

Then we went to one of our favorite places (East Harbor State Park) to just watch the lake.

And then we had our annual visit to Marblehead Lighthouse.

That evening I sat out by the lake for three hours reading a book. Toward the end of the evening Dr. M joined me. What a lovely lovely weekend…

Monday, September 1st
Headed home today – time to say goodbye to the lake for a while…

My daily walk.

Dr. M sat outside this evening & took pictures of a nighthawk!

Tuesday, September 2nd
My daily walk/ride.

Wednesday, September 3rd
My daily walk.

Dr. M sat outside for a while. We love our toads.

The moon!

Thursday, September 4th
Dr. M’s school had a student activity fair today. He knows how to make history look fun!

My daily walk.

Friday, September 5th
My daily walk.

Saturday, September 6th
Seen around the yard. The silly squirrels planted corn in a place that doesn’t get mowed & it actually has an ear of corn on it!

Dr. M has been sculpting the state of Ohio from cherry tomatoes. I think it’s fabulous :)

My daily walk.

The moon!

Have a great week!

  1. Beautiful pictures, and still liking that short haircut.

  2. Your tomatoes have certainly been prolific! Wish we lived nearby so that we could get a share. I'd trade you for herbs and jalapenos, both of which are out of control in my garden.

  5. Then we went to one of our favorite places (East Harbor State Park) to just watch the lake. There's just something very soothing and relaxing about just watching a lake or an ocean or a river!

    1. It's a magical space! We can park right at the edge. Sometimes we just roll down the windows, open the moon roof, and relax in the Bugly. Actually, she chose to sit in one of our comfy folding chairs this time, but I got kinda hot and so retreated to the car, which provided shade. The sound of the waves breaking, even if they are little waves, the sight of the gulls and the boats and the people and the dogs is so great! I love water...can you tell?

  6. Any man who can leave his woman alone for three hours reading a book by the lakeshore is my kind of guy.

  7. You cut your hair! It looks great! (I'm probably way behind on that news -- sorry.)

What's that little lunchbox near the end, with sharks and the lion toy? (I think?)

  8. I like your hair! You do hats and earrings well, so I think that length of hair complements it very well.

I also really like the sign posted on your hike, and that you had such a relaxing time away. There is such beauty all around and you both capture it so well.

  9. I love the new doo. How cute is that. It's perfect for your face.

I just came from visiting another blog with beautiful pics and now I'm here, enjoying yours. You guys are inspiring. I need to grab my camera and get out there. Dr. M looks so happy in that pic with the lighthouse in the background. You're gonna miss your tomatoes when they're gone. I know I'm going to miss our local ones. We don't have a place to grow our own. Too shady around our house.

    1. We're a pretty shady operation, too ;-) These little ones do fine...sandwich tomatoes don't want to ripen on the vine so well. Thank you! I was in my happy place! ~ M

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
