2014 Project 365 – Week Forty-five

OK, remember when I said that my daily walk pictures would be boring this week? Well, I don’t think they are, particularly. I thought that I’d be taking all my walks in the dark & that’s why they’d be boring, but I actually only walked after dark one time. And on that day I got a fabulous turkey picture, so even then it wasn’t boring. Ha!

Sunday, November 2nd
Still at the retreat today. On our way back from breakfast I saw this – made me laugh!

After lunch Barb & I saw a hawk in one of the trees. I love how Barb matches the leaves in her woollies…

Mother Lynn blessing the prayer shawl I finished on Friday, as well as a baby blanket that another of the ladies mostly finished during the weekend.

Back home, Heather the sheep got a blanket to combat the cold. Yes, I realize that she is both inanimate and a sheep. So?

My daily walk – more long shadows…

Monday, November 3th
Took a picture of the prayer shawl before I shipped it off to Lisa at Blessed in Abundance.

My daily walk. A lovely day!

Tuesday, November 4th
Dr. M took these pictures of a gingko tree with its shed leaves.

My daily walk – our voting site is just across the street from us. I wasn’t very happy with the election results (as anyone who knows me might imagine), but our library levy passed, so that was a good thing!

Wednesday, November 5th
When I got into my office on Wednesday morning it was SO COLD! I tried using my fingerless gloves, but the problem with those is when your fingers are cold they aren’t much use.

My daily walk – walked to the Lowe’s Home Improvement store up the street from my office so I could buy a thermometer to see just how cold my office was. Of course, by the time I got back the air conditioner had been turned off & it was 72 degrees. Perfectly acceptable.

My commute home.

Thursday, November 6th
My daily walk. I loved the heart-shaped smooshed piece of gum on the sidewalk.

Friday, November 7th
I took a veggie tray to work for a birthday party. I think I overestimated how much I needed for 6 people. Ha! Plenty of leftovers for Dr. M and me.

Dr. M saw a buck in a cornfield.

Cows! Staring!

My daily walk – in the dark. Love the turkey!

While I was walking, the Moon Man jumped into action.

Saturday, November 8th
My morning activity. It must look fine because no one who has seen me has commented on it. Or maybe it looks horrible & they’re too kind to tell me! Oh no! (Not fishing for compliments – I know it looks ok.)

I received this gorgeous painting from my friend Bev! She’s such a sweetie. I need to figure out where it’s going to live…

My 192nd daily walk. Just a bit breezy. A hat might have been in order.

Pinky the Pet Geranium seems to be thriving in the living room.

Hope everyone has a great week!

  3. Yep. You can always count on leftovers when you take a veggie tray to work. Love the turkey.

  4. What's the story on that chair? Did you buy it at Lowe's? My boys need a spare chair in their apartment, and that would be perfect.

    1. That chair is at Tuesday Morning - do you guys have those up there? I was trying it out because I'm in the market. Sadly, it's slightly too tall. I'm looking for something that allows me to put my feet flat on the floor & keep my lap horizontal (instead of sloping downward). Sometimes being short is a pain in the patootie!

  5. Great walks (you are to be commended) and I like the pink geranium petals.

  6. Glad to see Pinky is surviving. Lovin' the hair. I use L'Oreal, too - Ginger Twist. Works well, but I need help from the hubs to do the highlighting on the back. I have much shorter hair than you. I don't know how you did such a good job.

The turkey is a hoot... or should I say gobble, gobble? You'r vegetables are beautiful. Why does your food always look so good to me? And it isn't even fried. :)

That prayer shawl is beautiful. Such a rich color.

Keep walking. I'm so proud of you.

  8. I love Heather and her outfits, the purple shawl and fingerless gloves, and the deer in the cornfield!
Did you really mean to say 192 daily walks???

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
