2015 Project 365 – Week Thirty-five

This week was all about the moon… Also, Dr. M took a lot of great pictures that I’m not including here because he did a blog post! Go check it out here.
Sunday, August 23rd
My daily walk…

The moon!

Monday, August 24th
Pinky.

My daily walk.

The moon! (I’m sensing a theme here…)

Tuesday, August 25th
My daily walk.

One of the roses at Dr. M’s school.

I’ve been trying to sing some because choir is starting back up next week. It amuses me to sing out of the hymnal of my youth – that is older than I am.

Squares #3 and #4 of Pattern #16. I finished the blue & white one last week, but forgot to take a picture of it. The green & cream one definitely needed blocking!

Wednesday, August 26th
That squirrel – ha! We’re pretty sure he was looking in the window of the barn to see if it would be worth his effort to climb over there.

Crocheting by the fire…

Thursday, August 27th
I love this pattern! I took pictures after each row because it was so interesting to me how different it looked along the way.

Friday, August 28th
Dr. M & I are going on a cruise in December for our 25th wedding anniversary – so excited that our new passports arrived today!

Finished the square - #1 of pattern #17.

We had quite the conflagration going on!

The moody moon…

Saturday, August 29th
An even moodier moon.

Smelly cat! Someone said that you could remove the scent glands & it would make a great pet. My question is – who’s going to catch it to remove the glands? I think we’ll just stalk it from a safe distance. Ha!

Hope everyone has a great week!

  1. I'm enjoying your moon pictures because our moon has been hiding behind clouds for many days now!

The squirrel looks hilarious, like it's doing some chin-up exercises.

  2. A cruise?! Have a great time, it been four years since my wife, my daughter, and myself did a Disney cruise. I'm dying to go on another.

    1. Exciting new adventure! Where to?

    2. Celebrity Cruise out of San Juan, Puerto Rico to the Southern Caribbean...we head down to Barbados, with a day at sea, then island hop back to San Juan...it's a regular winter route for them, and a relatively small cruise ship (2000 passengers).

  3. How come you didn't show us your passport photos? They always have such flattering pictures. Ha! In mine, I look too stupid to be a terrorist.

    2. We have an extra print of our photos...maybe she'll post just the photos...they actually aren't bad! But yeah, what Rita said...too much info next to the pics!

  4. Have you ever been on a cruise before? I really enjoy it. It's very convenient, and so much available to do. Where are you going?

    1. I have never been on a cruise! Bug took a short hop with her family from Florida to Bahamas a number of years ago. We are doing the Southern Caribbean route...seven days. I lecture on Caribbean slavery, sugar, and rum every semester. Thought it was time I saw the islands myself: we depart from Puerto Rico, head straight down to Barbados, then island hop back north.

  5. So, I tried something new--added to the comments, ha!

Love the hues of the sky. And am loving the adventure of walking! Something new to see, discover, learn every time. Only I am not as faithful as you.

  6. The Broadman Hymnal. I still have one around. It sat at the ready on my mother's piano until the day she died.

    1. In my grandparents' church, many of our musicians and singers read shaped notes, so they loved the 1940 Broadman!

  7. Exciting about the cruise! Where will you be going?

I can't quite make out the skunk in that picture but it's great that he/she visits you. Skunks are apparently having a hard time of it these days, killed by cars and pets and civilization in general.

    1. Oh, I see Dr. M already answered my question about your destination. Sounds exciting! Post pictures! (As I'm sure you will!) :)

    2. Pics no doubt will be posted, Steve! And yes, I see a lot of dead skunks. There are several very healthy ones in our neighborhood. They don't bother me, I don't bother them.

  8. I remember when I was a kid some people called skunks polecats. I never understood why.

    1. Not sure, either, but yes, I heard polecat a lot growing up.

  9. Oh, Pinky, you are divine.
A cruise?!?! Can't wait for those pics.

  10. Good for you for celebrating your 25th big! Its quite an accomplishment these days! It amazes me how different the sky can look. God put in such small details when he was planning all that out. Makes me feel loved!

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
