Sweet!

So, at work yesterday, I opened a drawer that I apparently never open and found this:

I thought to myself, "Ooh - now THIS is a lovely surprise! I vaguely remember buying this treat, but I can't believe I didn't eat all of the brownies right away!" Then I thought to myself, "Hmm - there seem to be conversation-type hearts all over the label." Then I thought to myself, "Self, when exactly did you buy these brownies?"

In case you can't tell - that says February 16, 2015. Yes indeed - these brownies are now almost a year old, and yet they appear to be in fine condition.

I left them in the drawer. I'm thinking I might try to eat one.

  2. If they are anything like Twinkies, they have a shelf life of about 50 years. Enjoy! :)

  3. YOU FORGOT ABOUT BROWNIES IN YOUR DRAWER FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR???

(I might have to disown you now as my long-lost sister...)

  5. I'd be concerned about the ones I DID eat if year old brownies look fine.

  6. I think anyone who crochets half a dozen blankets for friends deserves fresh, bakery brownies. Real brownies. With chocolate frosting.

  7. haha... I just cleaned out my office drawer at work that I keep food in - its basically empty now - EVERYTHING had expired in it.

That's frightening that those cupcakes look perfectly normal... what the heck is in them!?!?!

  9. It's like that chocolate YooHoo drink. It's supposed to have a shelf life of -- oh, I don't know. A milennium. Clearly, those brownies are an example of better living through chemistry, not the baker's art. Go get yourself some new ones, girl! (Have you tried the new, thin, Oreos? Now, those are something I could plow through. The higher proportion of cookie to stuffing is perfect. And they crunch.)
