2020 Project 365 – Week Thirty-three

You will be thrilled to know that I am now finished discussing allergy meds (for the time being). I used the Xyzal for exactly two days and decided that being alert was more important than being able to talk. And frankly my voice has been mostly fine lately. I wonder what I’ll complain about next week? The attack on the US postal service? The general misogyny in all areas of human life? The fact that evangelical Christians continue to bray about being persecuted and (apparently) think that  the current president will save them? (Fun fact: neither of these is true.)

Sunday, August 9th
That’s a lot of containers of food for Monday! You’ll be relieved to know that I ate half of everything (oatmeal, fruit, salad). So then I didn’t have to pack Tuesday’s lunch. Woot!

Monday, August 10th
Our wildflower bed is battered, but still contains some gems.

Tuesday, August 11th
Pulled this back out to work on.

Wednesday, August 12th
Met a friend for lunch. I had already eaten by the time she said she was going to be in the area, but I am never too full for dessert!

Thursday, August 13th
I wear my glasses on top of my head until I get into the office & then (usually), I put them on my face. Something went awry here.

Friday, August 14th
Good hair day.

I posted on the socials: There’s something not quite right here, but I can’t put my finger on it. Can one of you help?

Dr. M found some rather large tomatoes!

Saturday, August 15th
Progress photo on the project, plus the introduction of a fun new color! I’m not sure what I’ll think about the end result, but I’m very much enjoying the process of making it.

Last week Steve Reed asked who Otis the Sheepadoodle is. He’s a dog we follow on Instagram – go here if you’d like to check out his page. And YES Steve you should absolutely make an Olga calendar!

We had a 5.1 magnitude earthquake on Sunday morning. I was asleep, but I felt our house move and I remember waking up briefly & wondering what the heck Dr. M was doing that would shake the whole house, & then I rolled over & went back to sleep. So that’s basically how helpful I would be in a crisis. What about you? Would be you an asset or a hindrance in an emergency situation?

  1. Our flower beds are taking a beating from this rain, too. I'm ready for some sunshine.
5.1 earthquake. That's not exactly nothin'. I would be the opposite of you as far as waking up. I would be on my feet in seconds, but then I'd wake H, and I'd be very dramatic and of absolutely no constructive help whatsoever.

  2. I have friends who live near Wilmington (in Rocky Point). They didn't feel a thing.

I'm very good in an emergency. I sort of have an alter ego who takes over and becomes very calm and clear-headed. Afterward, I am a shuddering, teary mess.

That tower of food would last me several days; I'm not a breakfast eater, and I'm scattershot about lunch.

  3. nice tomatoes. and I buy plastic framed readers for that very reason, cause metal frames get tangled in my hair.

  4. Quite a colorful post: the wildflower, the masks, the crochet squares, the tomatoes--all gorgeous!

  5. I wondered whether you felt that earthquake! Such a weird thing to have happen in the Carolinas. Not exactly earthquake country.

Thanks for bringing me up to speed on Otis! I've had several people tell me over the years that I should make an Instagram account for Olga. It's probably too late now, since she mostly just lies around these days (LOL) but maybe I missed a huge revenue opportunity?

  6. I've learned to stop putting my glasses on top of my head because I am FOREVER getting them caught up in my hair too.

  7. The photo of the glasses caught in your hair reminds me of a photo recently of some politician (governor of Florida maybe?) putting on a mask vertically instead of horizontally.

  8. I love that you are blogging your Project 365. I've done it on Instagram a few times over the years but never thought about blogging it. You definitely had me laughing several times along the way. Have a great weekend :)

  9. That’s a lot of containers of food for Monday!

The kitchen cabinets at my house are total chaos when it comes to containers. We don't really have any complete sets and next to none of them stack or fit together.

There is always a chance when you open a cabinet door for there to be an avalanche.

Thanks for stopping by - I'd love to hear what you have to say!

2024 Project 365 – Week Twelve

I woke up not feeling well and skipped church (for the second week in a row - oops), but that doesn’t keep me from being deep in the throes ...
