Thanks for all the kind comments on my last post. I’m settling into gimp-hood, and learning how to be extra
economical with my movements (this is where having a tray on my walker really
helps – I can carry ALL THE THINGS from here to there instead of making
separate trips). All things considered, this was a pretty good week.
Sunday,
May 21st
Dr. M spent some time with his father on this rainy Sunday.
They went out to Pop’s favorite restaurant – Hardee’s.
Monday,
May 22nd
The squirrels continue to be decidedly
UN-baffled.
One of Dr. M’s students made
this sheep and sent it to him. I’ve named him Blueberry. Cute!
Tuesday,
May 23rd
I was on my way out get some
blood work done (FOUR vials, just to make sure I’m not Iron Man), but I paused
by the driveway to check for four leaf clovers. Score!
Another picture of Roy.
He wanted to know where we were going & could he come too.
Wednesday,
May 24th
Your weekly geranium porn.
Thursday,
May 25th
We got some new stamps &
they are totally making me crave Mexican food!
Friday,
May 26th
We went on a ramble after work today.
I love these cactuses! (Cacti?)
Of course, we saw sheep staring at
Dr. M.
And we saw a blue heron! These
pictures are from quite a distance, but I especially wanted to share the one
where it has a bass in its mouth. Dinner!
Saturday,
May 27th
I made some
patriotic folderol for the front porch. It’s sort of small – I should make
another one with bigger flags & put this one on the mantle.
Twilight in
the holler… (the non-shiny vampire
edition)
That was my
week – how was yours?
Oh, I love Blueberry the Sheep! And that heron -- I saw one gulp down a huge mullet last week, and it's a sight to behold. Yesterday, I saw some of those black and white belted cows, which was pretty cool, and today I actually found my dust cloth. That wasn't so cool, but I'm going to wield it around. And on Tuesday, I'm going to get some of those stamps. Those are the best I've seen in quite some time.
ReplyDeleteAnother picture of Roy. He wanted to know where we were going & could he come too.
ReplyDeleteI really hate leaving my two dogs behind when we go on vacation. While Sparky seems to understand the kennel is just a temporary thing Snickers get a look like he is being abandoned again.
I love that patriotic garland that you made. It is way cool, and Blueberry is adorable. After your surgery, he will snuggle up to you. Those cacti are something. I remember seeing a huge patch of them when I was on vacation at the Outer Banks one year. Beautiful. Like that stamp and Roy is a doll. Aren't you the lucky girl, finding a 4-leaf clover. That has to bode well. I'm glad you're adapting to your situation. Be careful!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are plugging along. And so glad you are closer to the folks.
ReplyDeleteanother wonderful set of photos. I especially like the geranium.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific smile from Roy!
ReplyDeleteFinding a four-leaf clover on your way to get blood work done HAS GOT TO BE a great sign!
ReplyDeleteThose stamps look great - I haven't seen them yet. There should be one of a taco truck, for any mail sent to the White House, no?
Is that sheep wearing a blanket?
Yep...to protect the wool.
DeleteYou use the word 'gimp' rather differently to us over here...
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think if I've ever seen a picture of an actual four-leaf clover before, and since I'm not sure I ever have, thanks for posting one! Now I know they exist, ha ha :)
