2024 Project 365 – Week Seventeen

I’m enjoying the calm before the storm – open enrollment kicks off a week from Monday and it will be crazypants until the end of June. And in the midst of that we’re still working on our new operating system that supposed to go live July 1st. Some days (like today) I think it’s going to be fine. Other days I’m wondering if 60 is too early to retire and can I just go ahead & do it now.
Sunday, April 21st
I went to church and then had lunch with Dad & Sue. Meanwhile, Dr. M checked out our rain-drenched geraniums. Ms. Rita is loving life outside. Miss Pinky is having her annual snit. She likes it hot and we’re not there yet.

Monday, April 22nd
Morning Dana really appreciates that Evening Dana (most of the time) packs her lunch, picks out what she’s going to wear, & lays out jewelry & toppers.

Tuesday, April 23rd
The conditions were hazy, but Dr. M got what he could of the Pink Moon.

Wednesday, April 24th
No photo.

Thursday, April 25th
I wanted a new profile picture.

Friday, April 26th
Took a photo of dad’s other azalea. It’s not as ginormous as the one I posted last week, but still lovely.

Saturday, April 27th
I was nervous crocheting during hockey & finished sleeve island!

I think I’ve run out of words. Do you have anything interesting to say?

2024 Project 365 – Week Sixteen

It’s “cold” (53 degrees) and rainy and I am in my sheep pajamas with a warm laptop on my lap. I’m not mad about that.
Sunday, April 14th
The phoebes are on the nest!

Monday, April 15th
In my never ending quest to make my breakfast routine simpler, I bought yet another pan. I love it!

Meanwhile, the azalea at Dr. M’s dad’s house is gorgeous!

Tuesday, April 16th
Dad and Sue have been singing with a group for a number of years now, but this is the first time I’ve attended one of their performances. This one was at a church near where I work. I’m going to try to embed a video of my dad telling a joke, but if it doesn’t work you can go here to watch it. I actually genuinely laughed (twice) when he told it, so it’s worth checking out.

Wednesday, April 17th
No photo.

Thursday, April 18th
I was walking out to my car & caught a glimpse of my shadow and wondered if maybe I was growing horns.

Friday, April 20th
Went by Dad & Sue’s on the way home and was greeted by this bundle of fluffy joy. Meet the newest addition to my brother and sister-in-law’s family, Willow the Goldendoodle!

Also, my dad’s azalea is pretty amazing.

Saturday, April 21st
Dr. M was surprised to see blossoms on the Dr. Van Fleet rose at his dad’s house. So delicate and lovely.

I’m heading into my busiest season at work. I’m relieved that it’s here so it will soon be behind me. Well, I say soon, but this year because of a lot of factors it’s going to be busy and crazy until July. So what I’m saying is that I’ll have to devote my brain cells elsewhere for a while. Oh I’ll still post, but it might be gibberish. Something to look forward to!

2024 Project 365 – Week Fifteen

The world seems to be coming apart at the seams, and here I am, writing my little posts…
Sunday, April 7th
Another completed puzzle. I also took a picture of my salad, but deemed that too unexciting for this post.

Monday, April 8th
I took a salad to work & when I opened my mini-fridge I saw that there was already another salad in there. Oops.

Tuesday, April 9th
Chipping sparrow which of course we call Larry Wayne Birb, in honor of Chipper Jones. (That's a little inside baseball. Heh.)

Wednesday, April 10th
My cousin posted this on my wall. He did it as a challenge, but you know I would totally try it.

Thursday, April 11th
No photo. It was the 3rd day of what I’m now calling world building at work – we’re creating a new operating system from the ground up and this week we were testing things. It wasn’t pretty, but it WAS instructive. And I was toast.

Friday, April 12th
Our Carolina Allspice, or Sweet Bubby bush, is blooming. It smells divine!

This was my second attempt to park in this space. I was thrown off because I went to pull into a space, but someone was getting out of their car so I had to go one space down. That’s my story anyway.

Saturday, April 13th
Dr. M’s Pop’s old gray cat living its best life.

This week was my sister-in-law’s birthday (hey Bren) & I ordered an eyeglass topper for her. She’s the one who got me addicted so it seems appropriate that I also ordered one for me. That will make number 19. How many is too many, do you reckon?

2024 Project 365 – Week Fourteen

My brain doesn’t want to brain today, so just imagine that I wrote something witty here.
Sunday, March 31st
Easter! Also included, a photo of a completed puzzle at my dad's house.

Our phlox has just been so lovely.

Monday, April 1st
A new month! Also, Adam is the worst.

Tuesday, April 2nd
Dad & Sue weren't home when I stopped by during lunch, but that didn't stop me from finishing another puzzle.

Dr. M says: 🎶
This is the blooming of the Asian Wisterias, Asian Wisterias, Wisterias!🎵 This looks to be Wisteria Sinensis (Chinese Wisteria), and it has been growing in Laboratory for many decades. Asian Wisterias bloom in Spring. Japanese Wisteria, when viewed from above, climbs in spirals that run clockwise. These spirals run counterclockwise, indicating that this is Chinese Wisteria.

Look what Dr. M brought home for me!

Wednesday, April 3rd
Dr. M’s mom’s azalea is always gorgeous around the time of The Masters golf tournament.

This is posted specifically for Ellen Abbott who seems to frequently find weird flavors of familiar things. You know I’d try it. I’m a little surprised Dr. M didn’t bring a bag home for me!

Thursday, April 4th
That puddle in my salad is me “using up the last bit of dressing in the bottle.”

Friday, April 5th
Wore my D.J. Burns NC State shirt to work. They played in the final four on Saturday, but alas were defeated by Purdue. It was a great run!

Saturday, April 6th
Dr. M says that there’s nothing so verdant in spring as a field of wheat.

My little life seems to be rolling along without too much drama, but when I look at the wider world I feel hope and despair and rage and joy. It’s all so big and I feel ill equipped to handle it. So I concentrate on what’s right in front of me. And vote.

2024 Project 365 – Week Thirty-eight

This post will be a little different than usual. I do still want to share a few pictures from last week, but Hurricane Helene derailed our l...
