It’s another selfie week. I even
decided to not use two of them. I don’t know, but I must think I’m fabulous.
One thing I do know - I am very grateful that NC didn’t get the extreme weather
that other parts of the country got last week (looking at you Texas – SO
SORRY!!).

No mushy Valentine’s photo here – the only thing I photographed was my sandwich – ham and cheese and peanut butter & jelly. It was good!

We had a mask decorating contest at work for heart health. Here is my submission.

Twilight. (Also, there was a picture of me eating the pancakes Dr. M got me for Shrove Tuesday, but I decided it was a selfie too far.)

How long have we been wearing masks? When will I become competent?
Zoom ash Wednesday! The
second photo is me being mesmerized by the blue flashing light on my Bluetooth headset.
Maybe I’ll wear a different one for my next zoom call!

For some reason I was inspired to start listening to this book again. I wonder why?
Here is a story about me being an asshole. I was in my office during my lunch hour & there was a knock on my door. I was super annoyed because I was playing a timed game on my iPad, but I VERY UNGRACIOUSLY let a couple of coworkers in. Only to find out that I had won the mask decorating contest. Oh my goodness – look at this basket! I felt simultaneously two inches tall and 10 feet tall. Lesson to self: be a nicer person. And just delete that stupid game off your iPad.
I pulled this scarf out to start working on it again. I had put it away before Christmas so I could concentrate on Christmas presents. I had to basically relearn what the heck I was doing here.
I just had dinner: leftover pecan chicken and rice pilaf, with some extra onion and mixed veggies stirred in. Also: a carton of strawberry cheesecake yogurt for dessert. Big news all the way around, here. The snow and ice are gone, and it was about 72 degrees this afternoon. I moved my plants outdoors, did a little repotting, and may or may not do a little more housecleaning tonight. If nothing else, I'll sweep up the dirt from the plants.
ReplyDeleteOur water's back and the boil notices have ended, so I took a hot shower, washed my hair, and got the laundry caught up. Happyhappyhappy.
Well your dinner sounds just amazing. I love pecan chicken! So glad that things are turning around down there in Texas!
DeleteHappy for TX, above. We're finally hitting the 30s in NEO for the week. First time in forever. Maybe I'll finally see the end of this snow that's been heaped up around here.
ReplyDeleteI spied a basil leaf or two peeking out from your prize basket! Lucky you if you got a nice plant. The only herb I had left was a gorgeous rosemary, but as soon as the big snow came, it got destroyed by the neighbor's snowblower. Sigh. I just hope it comes back.
The basil is lovely! Dr. M put it in a new pot & it's living in the tub with Pinkie right now. I love rosemary - I always plan to grow herbs, but then the one year I did I couldn't figure out what to do with them (since I don't really cook).
Deleteshould have seen me trying to put on a mask with a hat on, sunglasses and a scarf around my neck. of course you won the mask contest.
ReplyDeleteMasks are tricky!
DeleteI have never heard of combining ham & cheese and peanut butter & jelly on the SAME sandwich. It seems like kind of an Elvis thing to do! LOL
ReplyDeleteThat gift basket looks amazing, and I love your twilight photo.
My brother & I "invented" this sandwich (except we used bologna) when we were teenagers. I'm pretty sure he doesn't still eat it though.
DeleteI think SWMBO is doing some kind of Asian stir-fry chicken dish.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good. We haven't had Asian food in forever!
DeleteAndy Weir has another book coming out soon. Never read his second book, which takes place on the moon.
ReplyDeleteBut The Martian is probably the best hard sci-fi book I have read in a long time.
It really is! I'm kind of afraid to read any others of his in case I don't like them. (That sounds stupid now that I've typed it out like that - ha!)
