In the midst of all the national and international dumpster situations, I have two blog friends who have lost beloveds recently. Steve Reed’s Olga went away in her favorite place in the back garden, and Nance’s Marlowe was in her arms. I know that they’re both grieving. I don’t have any fancy words, but I’m thinking about them both today.

We had six folks join the church today. It was a good day!
When I went to Dad & Sue’s I tried on this hat that my brother gave my dad. I think I’m hilarious. (Click on the video & view full screen for the full effect).

No photo from me today, but here are Sue and her sisters on their girl trip to Charlotte. They saw the Superman movie (and got up to other shenanigans).
Tuesday, July 22nd
Sue inspired me! (I took these to the office - I did NOT eat all of them!)
Wednesday, July 23rd
No photo today either, but I saw this on Facebook & immediately screenshotted it to send to some of my favorite southerners. Ha!

The way I plowed through this bag of caramels was a sign of how crazy it was at work this week.
Friday, July 25th
In my defense, I had a coupon.

Dr. M drove by one of our favorite scenes. It’s lovely in any season (although right now, with no trees around it, I sure hope that house has a really good air conditioning system!).
Our wildflowers are winding down, although they’re still providing plenty of sustenance to flying things.
I’m feeling puny today. A cold? Allergies? I skipped church & I’m thinking about taking a Tylenol PM & sleeping through the Braves game. It’s been so long since I’ve been sick that I can’t even remember how to treat my symptoms. Ha! How are you doing these days? What do you do when you have a cold?
Thank you for your kind mention.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you're feeling under the weather. Those symptoms are the worst in the summertime. When I have a cold, I treat the symptoms pretty aggressively because I don't like to suffer. I hate being sick! Get well soon!
I am a whiny baby when I'm sick. AND I tend to martyr myself (as long as I think I'm not contagious). My poor coworkers. Ha!
DeleteYou know, I don't get sick. I can't remember the last time I had a cold. Well, I do remember but it was far in the past. Mostly what I remember is the body's amazing ability to produce copious amounts of snot non stop.
ReplyDeleteYou've posted that picture of the house several times and everytime I see it I am amazed that they have never bothered to plant a tree for shade.
Ellen - you are a HOSS! That's why you don't get sick. And yes about the house - I like the emotions it evokes but I think I'd hate to live there (except I'll bet the view is good).
DeleteThat hat is hilarious! I hope your "cold" turns out to be nothing. I haven't had a cold in ages but when I get one I just muddle through. Aspirin is my pain reliever of choice.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm on the upswing on the cold - definitely feeling more alert today.
DeleteI loved the hat - I would definitely wear it mowing.
I haven't had a cold in so many years that I'd probably just assume it was oncoming death and lie down with my hands folded on my chest. The hat looks great on you and with that Carolina drawl all I could think of was Scarlett saying "Tomorrow is another day." And although I always get the thinnest crust pizza I can because SWMBO likes it that way . . . your pizza had my mouth watering. Couldn't handle the caramels, though.
ReplyDeleteWe usually get thin crust too - I don't like to waste time and calories on all that bread. But this was pretty tasty!
