A Day Late and a Dollar Short

I had a crazy busy weekend and just couldn't get it together to post anything. And, really, I'd like to be snoozing right now, so it's anyone's guess as to how coherent this will be. But, for you, I will trudge on & see what happens.

First of all, I made good on my threat. Ha! We've named him G-man (for Gnome Man). It's highly entertaining.

Next, look at this travesty of an NCAA tournament bracket. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture, but the east is dead to me now. I picked the wrong underdogs to win. Ah well, it makes the tournament more interesting.

On the crochet front, here's my latest square - #3 of pattern #5:

Finally, here's a temperature blanket update. Frankly, I think it's the weirdest thing. And adding red & orange this summer will only make it weirder. I kind of like it though - and I'm certainly paying more attention to the weather than I usually do!

How have YOU been doing?

  1. Your temperature blanket is really coming along! I could see it hanging in the Smithsonian one day, as a testament to global warming: "See how much red and orange she used in the Summer of 2016...?"

I haven't done much...tired and worn down. I want to be snoozing right now, too. Right after some Facebook. Ha!

  2. Doing just fine, although warmer weather would certainly be nice right about now.

    1. Yeah - we're in the warm(ish) day & cold night part of the year right now. Which is actually just about perfect for me.

As usual, chasing my tail is probably the best description.

    The gnome is awesome!

    1. Do you ever catch your tail? Don't answer that question!

  4. That gnome is funny. And I could wrap myself in your temperature blanket right now. It was only in the low 60's today and the wind was blowing like . . a Prescott Valley wind!

    1. Hopefully this week is warmer & less windy for you!

  5. Picking for the tournament bracket is kind of like choosing a line at the store -- you inevitably choose the wrong one, with someone who has a gazillion coupons that must be scanned individually or they're paying their total bill in coinage or they forgot their wallet and send their pokey teenager to the car to get it... But it gives you plenty of time to think about how you'll choose differently next time, only to have the same thing happen again. hahahahahahah

I could use your temperature blanket. I woke up early and came out to the kitchen so Ivan could sleep a little longer, and even with my robe on, I'm chilly! I think it's a fun blanket. Definitely a conversation starter! :)

    1. I was my own delay at the grocery store today. I used the self checkout (I only had a few items) & after every one it would say that the attendant had been notified to assist me. Took twice as long as if I had just gotten into a line with a live checkout person :)

    1. Yep, weird is the correct word for the blanket. And I'm not thinking that adding orange & red this summer is going to make it any less weird!

  7. Your gnome looks like he is drinking fireflies.
(Or as we call them in NEO--lightning bugs.)

  9. You cannot be serious! You did not pick UNC to go even to the Elite Eight? Much less the Final Four? Shame on you.

I am in love with the temperature blanket. Rather like Joseph's coat.

And I just might have to look for a gnome light. We already have a hard-working gnome with his wheelbarrow. One that my husband keeps moving further and further away from the front yard.

    1. My wife is in the ABC club...anybody but Carolina! I, on the other hand, have always been a closet Tar Heel. I almost went there as an undergraduate, opting for the more intimate confines of Wake Forest because they made it worth my while. But I still think that if God isn't a Tar Heel, then why is the sky Carolina blue? :D

    2. Oh you can imagine my dismay now that I have to either pull for UNC or Notre Dame (another school I can't stand). Ha! Can it be baseball season yet? I'm ready to watch my Braves have a wretched year...
