2018 Project 365 – Week Five

Well here we are in February. I am so ready for spring when I can start complaining about rain or being hot.
Sunday, January 28th
A friend gave me all this yarn that his mother had. My yarn larder runneth over!

Squirrel on the feeder. Imagine that!

Monday, January 29th
Cows!

Tuesday, January 30th
I got a wild hair & decided to wear red socks to work, and had a CRAZY day. And then I realized that I had left my wallet and my Fitbit at home. Not wearing red socks again anytime soon!

The moon!

Wednesday, January 31st
The moon!

Thursday, February 1st
I have been increasingly disgusted by my toothpaste cap. Have I done anything about it? No I have not.

Friday, February 2nd
Yarn problem? What yarn problem? But I needed all this yarn for new projects! Including this newborn cap (someone on Facebook said it looked like Fruity Pebbles – ha!).

Birds in our yard (including one that’s not quite a bird).

Saturday, February 3rd
We finally took down the Christmas tree! We still keep some of our ornaments these antique boxes that UPS used for my dad’s annual holiday turkey.

I know I said that I was making a crochet along blanket this year, but surprise! I’m making three. Here are the first three squares. Maybe I do have a yarn problem.

I had a really crazy week at work, and I’ve enjoyed a lazy weekend at home. I’m not sure I’m ready for Monday yet. How about you?

  1. We had a lazy weekend at home, too. Mine was sort of forced: I had a weather-change induced migraine. So I'll be extending the Lazy through today as I recover. Cute kiddie hat! That ivory yarn would make a lovely all-winter-white blanket.

    1. That's just what I was thinking! Someone did last year's Moogly CAL in entirely one color & it really looked fabulous - or I could do something totally different. Decisions!

  4. My Monday was busy, filing my taxes for yet another year and another tiny refund. At least I don't have to pay.

  5. I don't know if I was ready for Monday, but I did have to check a couple of times to be sure it was Monday, rather than Tuesday, since I have a meeting on Tuesday. Sigh. Of course I love the photo of the robin -- I miss robins! I got to see one this year, but it only was passing through, and not close enough for a photo. So, I'll just enjoy yours.

I've been seeing a lot of videos on YouTube with people having squirrels as pets. The squirrels seem tame but I've heard that when you least expect it their behavior can turn quite ugly.

  7. I still don't know why I can't comment on your site using my WordPress credentials. It's a mystery, but it's me, Bella at

My aunt had a pet squirrel. It was fine for years, then it turned on my uncle one day and bit him on the neck. Yikes!
I love that newborn hat so much. It's adorable.

  8. I'm a huge fan of lazy weekends!

Your "really crazy week at work" comment made me wonder...how are you settling in at your new job? Not that I expect you to "settle in" after six weeks (usually that takes more like six months), but I hope it's going well.
