2025 Project 365 – Week Twenty-one

 What a week! Let’s just dive in…

Sunday, May 18th

It is finished! A little wonky, a lot colorful, and DONE.

Monday, May 19th

No photo.

Tuesday, May 20th

No photo. I spent the whole day (and Wednesday & Thursday) at our Rec Center meeting room helping employees with their open enrollment paperwork. By Thursday evening I had worked with at least 80 folks. Most folks just turned their packets in to HR - I’ll go in tomorrow to check all those in & see how many of the 650 we’re still missing.

Wednesday, May 21st

I spent some quality time between helping employees checking out the debris on the floor, leftover from an activity the night before. There wasn’t a lot, but what there was, was very intriguing. I think I would probably have wanted to participate!

Thursday, May 22nd

Seen around the yard. Pretty pretty!

Friday, May 23rd

Felt cute (if maniacal), will definitely not delete it later.

We have daylilies!

Saturday, May 24th

Dr. M’s Pop’s 93rd birthday was Friday, but he celebrated with friends, so we visited with him on Saturday instead. First, we had lunch with Dr. M’s aunt and cousins (Pop would NOT have enjoyed eating at a restaurant for two days in a row), then we went by his house to wish him a happy birthday.

After we got home I hiked up to the neighbor’s house to get some photos of their glorious cactus - wowza!

This week was so crazy busy and peopley that I am only now feeling more normal - just in time to start all over again. On top of all the open enrollment stuff going on we have 17 new hires starting on Tuesday (we usually have 3-5). I’ll have to do the orientation with them, and then later in the week enter all their benefits in the payroll system. So just to keep on top of everything I’m going into the office tomorrow. How about you? What does your week look like?

2025 Project 365 – Week Twenty

I was hoping to have a photo this week, butI haven’t touched the hand I’m crocheting since last week. Oops.

Sunday, May 11th - Mother’s Day

I was feeling a little tender on my way to church today thinking about how life might have been different if my mom was still here.

Monday, May 12th

I told Dr. M that he was a good pan dad.

Tuesday, May 13th

Pretty nails!

Wednesday, May 14th

Another iron infusion. I think it helped?

Stir Fry! It was really good (and that’s good because we ate the leftovers for the rest of the week).

Thursday, May 15th

A fraction of the paper involved in open enrollment packets. I worked late on Thursday & then went in early on Friday & was utterly exhausted, but all the packets were completed & delivered. Woot! Kudos to my coworkers Kim & Sarah for their hard work helping me this year.

Friday, May 16th

I sent this photo to my sister-in-law. My brother drives a truck & I think she needs these toppers in her life. Ha!

I sent a toy to my nephew & his girlfriend for their birthdays & decided to video how it works. It’s like some sort of wizard magic!

Saturday, May 17th

My weird lunch - jalapeno tuna, mayo, cheddar, feta, and PEAS. It was good!

Next week is going to be pretty intense at work - all the open enrollment packets will be rolling in & there are 650ish, so I need to stay on top of them so they don’t get out of control. I’m pre-tired - ha! What does your upcoming week look like?

2025 Project 365 – Week Nineteen

I’ve made a lot of progress on the hand. Now it sort of looks like this.

Except it has four fingers. And no face. And is green. So, exactly the same!

Sunday, May 4th

I found some suspenders in my closet & was so excited!

Monday, May 5th

Dr. M made the best meal for Cinco de Mayo!

Tuesday, May 6th

No photo.

Wednesday, May 7th

Dr. M saw this horned beast when he went to the post office. Do you see things like this when you go to your post office?

Thursday, May 8th

Delivered some more snacks to my friend Marcel. I think his drive is going really well!

Friday, May 2nd 9th

From the socials: All you need is… (well, & a government that actually cares about the wellbeing of humanity)

Saturday, May 10th

I wore my Braves toppers while I was watching their game & they won, so I decided to switch to my Hurricanes toppers for their game - and it WORKED. They now lead the series 2-1 (it’s a 7 game series, so we have a ways to go - and this is only round 2 of 4. Hockey season lasts about 47 years).

The world is crazy, but I have a very important thing to complain about right now: it’s May and I wore long sleeves almost every day this week. In August I will remember these May days with fondness, but that’s a whole three months from now. How are you feeling about the weather where you are?

2025 Project 365 – Week Eighteen

I am working on this post instead of my latest crochet project which is supposed to be a hand flipping the bird but instead looks a lot like a set of green pickles. Don’t ask.

Sunday, April 27th

Our Sweet William is so lovely!

Monday, April 28th

People. My belt was getting on my nerves so I switched it to go the other way. Then later I couldn’t get it unfastened & there was almost an industrial accident situation. I knew I wasn’t very dexterous but this is ridiculous.

Tuesday, March April 29th

I don’t know. I’ve decided to absolve myself of any issues with matching my colors together. In the bathroom my shirt looks royal blue. Everywhere else it’s teal.

Wednesday, April 30th

On clear liquids today & this is what I have to say about that. I actually did pretty well at work until I hit a wall around 3:30 & went home.

The moon man, asking for his sisters of the moon to keep me in their thoughts & prayers.

Thursday, May 1st

Back home from the procedure - I decided to bake on the deck while I was still feeling pretty baked from the anesthesia. They found some inflammation & took some biopsies, but there weren’t any polyps. I guess we’ll see what the biopsies say, but I’m still feeling pretty confident that there’s nothing seriously wrong. Unless they come back & say I have to quit drinking Diet Sundrop. That would be very sad.

Friday, May 2nd

Peaches has really thrived in her rocky home! I love how the buds are a peachy yellow color.

Saturday, May 3rd

It’s Dr. Van Fleet O’clock!

It feels like the world is crumbling around us. Democracy is being upended. The social safety net is being torn asunder. The word “citizen” seems to no longer have any meaning. But I take comfort in a few things. People aren’t taking this lying down - they are protesting & using their voices & the courts. And I just finished reading Heather Cox Richardson’s book, Democracy Awakening and was reminded of all the other perilous times in our country. We made it through to the other side those times, so perhaps we can make it through this one. In the meantime, I have some pickles fingers to crochet!

2025 Project 365 – Week Twenty-five

I’m just going to pretend that I have no anxiety about a possible nuclear escalation. It’s fine. Really. Lalalala… Sunday, June 15th  I wrot...
