What a week! Let’s just dive in…
Sunday, May 18th
It is finished! A little wonky, a lot colorful, and DONE.
Monday, May 19th
No photo.
Tuesday, May 20th
No photo. I spent the whole day (and Wednesday & Thursday) at our Rec Center meeting room helping employees with their open enrollment paperwork. By Thursday evening I had worked with at least 80 folks. Most folks just turned their packets in to HR - I’ll go in tomorrow to check all those in & see how many of the 650 we’re still missing.
Wednesday, May 21st
I spent some quality time between helping employees checking out the debris on the floor, leftover from an activity the night before. There wasn’t a lot, but what there was, was very intriguing. I think I would probably have wanted to participate!
Thursday, May 22nd
Seen around the yard. Pretty pretty!
Friday, May 23rd
Felt cute (if maniacal), will definitely not delete it later.
We have daylilies!
Saturday, May 24th
Dr. M’s Pop’s 93rd birthday was Friday, but he celebrated with friends, so we visited with him on Saturday instead. First, we had lunch with Dr. M’s aunt and cousins (Pop would NOT have enjoyed eating at a restaurant for two days in a row), then we went by his house to wish him a happy birthday.
After we got home I hiked up to the neighbor’s house to get some photos of their glorious cactus - wowza!
This week was so crazy busy and peopley that I am only now feeling more normal - just in time to start all over again. On top of all the open enrollment stuff going on we have 17 new hires starting on Tuesday (we usually have 3-5). I’ll have to do the orientation with them, and then later in the week enter all their benefits in the payroll system. So just to keep on top of everything I’m going into the office tomorrow. How about you? What does your week look like?
I love your raiment for Friday! The first time Judy was on Prednisone she took an old pair of sandals out and painted them, something like yours. When she wears them she gets lots of compliments. We had a very good friend stop by (with her daughter) for a visit this past week on the eve of her 93rd birthday. She marked the day by moving into a care home, then going to a new hospital when her blood pressure dropped to dangerous levels. She called the next day from the hospital, as chipper as ever. My week looks like last week and the week before and the week ahead of next week. Boring?
ReplyDeleteThis will make you & Judy laugh - the artist for the shoes painted a vision he saw in the desert while he was on an acid trip. Ha!
DeleteWe both did! But no acid trips here! 😂
DeleteBut, hey! Was there cake? And if there was, why didn't we hear about it?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that someone has cacti just growing in their yard like that and they don't live in Arizona or New Mexico or someplace like that.
There were cupcakes! I can't believe I forgot to mention them.
DeleteThere are three cactus bushes on our street - this was the medium sized one. I should get a photo of the big one. And it's not as big as this GINORMOUS one I used to drive by on my way to my old job.
thecontemplativecat here. Great photos! Your flowers are lovely. Cactus flowers are always so beautiful. I wonder if there will be cactus prickly pear fruit? Here in Calif. these cacti spread out. Make great hedges for safety.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep an eye out!
DeleteWell, there's at least one lavender flower in your collection. That prickly pear is gorgeous. Their flowers are mostly yellow down here, but I occasionally come across some orange ones. I think (but don't know) that they might be different species; that doesn't matter. They're just beautiful. The only problem with your post is that now I want pizza. The one on that table looks absolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think that the bush in the next yard over has yellow flowers, but I keep missing my opportunity to photograph it.
DeleteI love your crocheted (or knitted?) "cactus"! The real one is pretty amazing too.
ReplyDeleteYour Snoopy toppers are fun!
We are nowhere near day lilies yet. They usually come in July, if at all.
Our daylilies used to bloom in July when we were in Ohio.
DeleteBits of yarn on the floor? Uh, yeah, you would have participated. Love your colorful shoes, well, the whole colorful outfit. And is that top photo directed at anyone in particular, maybe, dear leader?
ReplyDeleteI do believe that dear leader is the primary focus of the top photo - although I think the recipient has some other folks, closer to home, in mind too.
DeleteI'm telling you - you could sell that catcus - in these times - I think most want a middle finger plant on their desk! LOL
ReplyDeleteI've had two other people ask for one, but it was so fiddly to make I'm not sure I would want to do it again.
