2025 Project 365 – Week Twenty-eight

Basically we’re just concentrating on food around here. I mean, what else is there to think about?

Sunday, July 6th

I ate a salad! Please clap! (The lettuce was kind of sad, but the yeast roll was on point.)

Monday, July 7th

Dr. M mowed his dad’s grass. Look at that ginormous fig bush! Lordamercy that thing is OUT OF CONTROL. They keep cutting it back & it just keeps taking over. Fun fact: fig leaves can irritate your skin, so exercise extreme caution when pruning.

Tuesday, July 8th

Dr M says that he looked at the temps & decided that the 1970s were calling (except that our crock pot isn’t round or harvest gold). That brisket was GOOOOD. I raved about it all week.

Wednesday, July 2nd

The photo on the left is my current internal landscape. The one on the right is me cosplaying as a functioning adult.

My boss got us all cupcakes today. It was very tasty!

Thursday, July 10th

My doctor has been worried about my blood pressure (it was 160/100 in her office on the 3rd) so she changed a couple of my meds. I think they must be working!

Went out to dinner with friends and got this giant quesadilla (chicken, black beans, mushrooms, & zucchini). It was good - but the best part was I only ate half, so I had lunch for the next day.

Friday, July 11th

This sweater was so easy to make that I think I’m going to get my yarn out & make one in every color! (Note: I made it several years ago - it had just gotten buried in my closet.)

Saturday, July 12th

Morning glory. I woke up a lot earlier than I meant to, so they were still on full display when I took the recycling out to the bin. So pretty!

Did you know that Rosie O’Donnell is living rent free in our president’s head? Do we think she wants to be there? Doesn’t he have better things to do? To be fair, almost anything he could be doing would be better than all things he IS doing. And that’s the earth shattering thing on my brain at the moment. What’s going on in your brain?

  1. Love that sweater and slacks combo. You look very stylish!

  2. Lots of interesting details here, including that crockpot. Mine isn't exactly the same as yours, but it's oval and red, and I love it. I need to take your salad as my meal model for the week. I've been a little out of control, and I need to stop with the goodies pronto. I'm more an ice cream lover, though. Cupcakes like this one just don't appeal. The cake/frosting ratio isn't right; I'd scrape that frosting off in a hot second.

Everybody I know is waiting for things to dry out so they can mow. Even though we're not affected by the kind of flooding central Texas is getting, we've had a lot of rain, and the experienced ones know better than to put their equipment to work -- unless they enjoy pulling things out of the mud.

    1. I mainly ate the frosting & tossed the cake - ha! I also had ice cream last night, so I hear you about getting the goodies away.

  3. Morning glories are so pretty! My grandmother always had them climbing on strings at the side of her front porch.

I'm so weary of the cruelty and chaos and lies from the felon rapist that I don't know how I'll get through the next three years.

    1. We love our morning glories - they brighten up an otherwise drab part of the house. And YES, I'm trying to not go numb from all the terrible, but it's hard.

  4. Love your Wednesday selfies! Glad that your blood pressure is under control. Mine has never been that high but I did finally consent to go on bp meds especially after my sister died so suddenly from stroke.

As Jeff Tiedrich likes to say, the coked out squirrels living in Trump's head. I cannot understand how he, Trump not Jeff, has such a tight hold on so many people.

  5. I think it's hilarious that Trump keeps threatening to revoke Rosie's citizenship, even though A) he can't do that, and B) it would probably HELP her, as she'd no longer have to file American taxes!

Your cupcake and brisket look yummy. And how fun to find clothes in your closet you forgot you had!

The fig tree is a good way to hide the propane (or heating oil?) tank!

    1. Mike & I think that the propane tank looks like a submarine trying to hide. Ha!

Thanks for stopping by - I'd love to hear what you have to say!
