2025 Project 365 – Week Forty-six

State of the Bug Update: Week 3 ½ of no pain medication and while I have noticed an increase in random pain, it’s not as bad as I feared. My shoulder does hurt a good bit more, but I think that’s not related to medication – I just really do need a shoulder replacement at some point. Also, I’ve cut WAYYY back on my consumption of Diet Sundrop (because it’s bad for kidneys too), and I haven’t had any headaches and my sleepiness during day has basically stayed the same. So, although I will continue to be a drama queen, things aren’t as desperate as I thought they would be.

Sunday, November 9th
Here was all that was left of the wedding décor at church. All the flowers were so pretty!

Monday, November 10th
I sent this to Dr. M with the caption “What fresh hell is this?” Note: we didn’t get any snow to speak of.

Tuesday, November 11th
Here I am modeling the sweater. I’ve already been working on the yoke because it's too big – I was worried that it was going to fall completely off my shoulders!

Wednesday, November 12th
No photo.

Thursday, November 13th
Dr. M’s birthday! I felt like my gift to him was inspired this year – a Penzy’s Spices Advent Calendar! Here is the cover and the two inside “pages” – if you look closely you can see the little doors you’re supposed to open. I can't wait to see what all spices we get.

Friday, November 14th
Dr. M bought his own damned birthday cake and it has been delicious!

Saturday, November 15th
Dr. M brought Ms. Pinky in for the night earlier in the week, but she’s back outside for now & still blooming!

The national news this week has just been crazypants. If it weren’t so serious it would almost be laughable – and that’s just what we want in our government administration, right? Oof. How was your week? Less stressful than the President’s?

  1. The sweater looks great! I'm glad you modeled it; I couldn't quite visualize how it would look. I heartily approve! I was quite taken with that Penzy's Advent calender, too. I have a friend who loves their spices, and I thought of getting her one, but then I saw the price. Going to pass on that one, although it's actually quite reasonable for what you get. Beyond that, she doesn't do much cooking at all these days (she's 96), so more of the dark chocolate she loves will be a better choice.

My personal stress is a big job that I thought to have finished by 12/5. I recently learned that the folks are taking their boat and heading to Florida on 12/5, so between now and then, it's all work, all the time: or at least as much time as I can manage. No working until 9 p.m. on the docks. I did get permission to come in and work on the weekends, so between now and 12/3, if you want me I'll either be working or asleep. (Or posting some fun things from the archives on my blogs -- no wandering in nature just now!)

    1. Whew - that DOES sound stressful! But I have complete faith in you to get the job done!

  2. That picture you posted of the sweater dod not look like it would fit like that.

It's so warm here I'm already sweating sitting here with the door open.

    1. I know - it looked a lot shorter! I think that the yarn is so heavy that it stretched it out when I put it on - so if I wear it too many more times it will be a dress. Ha!

  3. Great gift! I love Penzey's spices and herbs. Their blends are wonderful, and so are their politics.

    1. Yes! I've been trying to think of a way to support them.

2025 Project 365 – Week Forty-eight

Here it is Sunday night after being off work for two days and I’m not exactly feeling the Sunday Scaries, but I’m also not entirely excited ...
