Today was the beginning of my favorite time of year – Daylight Saving
(Savings, Savings’, Saving’s, etc. etc.) Time. As I have discussed many times
before, I am not a morning person so I don’t care what the sun is doing then.
Is it dark when I’m going to work? Well, SO IS MY SOUL JANET. Evening sun is a
balm for me. Now, to remember to go to bed in a timely manner.
Sunday, March 1st
Dr. M & me at my family birthday celebration. Once again, I took no photos of other people - oops! But check out Dr. M's t-shirt. It is the TRUTH.

A tale of two vehicles, seen on my lunch hour (the first one is a paving business).
Birthday flowers from Dr. M – so pretty! I also had a piece of cake as big as my head. Full disclosure? I had another piece later, and then more on Wednesday.

Sheep!
Spent my lunch hour finishing this flip the bird project. It makes me laugh. I’ve already made another one. Ha!
Spring in Lincoln County. So pretty!
Saturday, March 7th
My birthday present from Dr. M. These are my favorite spices from his Penzey’s Advent calendar. I use them in my omelets – so yummy. And the box came with a free bumper sticker!
P.S. My nephew in the army has been put on alert because of the war in Iran. Our family is holding our breath, hoping he doesn't have to go to the Middle East.
Have those sheep been sheared already? Or are they just young? (I don't know much about sheep.) Those flower covered fields are gorgeous. We have lots of wildflowers appearing, but no fields filled with them yet: just the occasional roadside. As signs of spring, they do just fine. As for your birthday cupcake, we'd do well together. You could have the frosting, which I really don't like, and I'd eat the cake, no matter how dry!
ReplyDeleteI think they're just young sheep. Mike always tried to take photos of those kinds of fields because he knows how much I love them!
DeleteI adore Penzey's. My cabinet is full of all their spices and blends. Try Mural of Flavor. It makes an awesome dip, too.
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out!
DeleteHappy Birthday some days late. I brought home a container of peanut brittle from SHARE (we got two boxes of them). I told Marc it was best gotten rid of (eaten) as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteYeah - that's how I treat "treats" in the house - let's get them out of here! (By putting them in my belly)
DeleteSeems like you had a sweet birthday!
ReplyDeleteI did!
DeleteWell, I hope you had copious amounts of cake on your birthday -- as one should! Happy belated. That banana pudding cake looks especially fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the pickup truck! And when you said, "so is my soul Janet," I thought, "That must be a quote from something." So I Googled it, and Google told me: "It seems to be a personal reflection or conversation found on a blog titled 'Bug's Eye View' from early March 2026." So nope, I guess it's not a quote, except from you. :)
That's hilarious! Yeah - I just made it up myself & thought long & hard about which name to use (because Karen is just overdone now).
