2026 Project 365 – Week Seventeen

The world is so crazypants that I can’t find anything to say about it. I’d just like to acknowledge that fact.
Sunday, April 19th
This Sweet William has grown out of last year’s dead flowerhead! So bizarre!

Monday, April 20th
Do you remember those ruffle (potato chip) scarves that were all the rage a while back? Sue gave me a bag of that yarn in two colorways (sapphire & salsa). I decided to treat it as extra bulky & made this sweater with it. There wasn’t enough of either color, so color block it is! I do have one skein of each color left if anyone wants one of those ruffle scarves.

Tuesday, April 21st
Peaches is blooming like crazy!

Wednesday, April 22nd
The best part about getting my hair done these days is that it comes with a lap dog!

Thursday, April 23rd
Another day, another colorful dress. I had dinner with friends & (of course) only took photos of the food: Baja Chicken and a fabulous banana split. Yum!

Friday, April 24th
My coworker got the most perfect pin for me – I look forward to wearing it every day & adjusting it accordingly. Ha!

I stole this from Elliott’s mom: Elliott may be “non verbal” or “minimally verbal” but he will cuss you out just the same without using a single word. Watch him stamp his little foot, and mumble every letter of the alphabet at you.

Another weekend, another weekend day at the office. This week I went in after church today. Yesterday I stayed home and got a lot of stuff done around the house. Woot! I wonder if I’ll still try to do all the things on Saturdays after I retire. When do you get your housework done?

  1. Housework? What is this housework of which you speak? Actually, after ten days of absolutely ghastly viral 'whatever,' I finally was able to summon the energy to do a load of laundry and do the dishes this afternoon. Life's little victories! I'm going to try getting back to work tomorrow, if only for a few hours. We'll see how it goes. I did meet my doctor's new therapy puppy; that was good. It's one of the softest dogs I've ever met; she got it primarily for pediatric patients. Its name is Olive, which amused me for some reason.

I've never heard of those ruffle scarves. Pretty! But I'm clearly not back to myself. That banana split dessert looks terrible. I'm ready for oatmeal and orange juice, but not that.

    1. I'm glad you're feeling better, but goodness that is a long time to not be well! And now I want to pet the puppy too.

  2. Since Rick retired, we do housework stuff daily (except dusting, which I do when I cannot stand it anymore). It's frustrating because he's not used to it and sees absolutely nothing, so I have to TELL him every single time that the floors need to be vacuumed or the garbage and recycling have to go out. I'd like to get back to vacuuming myself, but it is the one thing that consistently wears me out. We've always done our own laundry.

    1. I try VERY HARD to not see the stuff that needs doing because it harshes my zen. However, after a certain point it's kind of hard to miss. Heavy sigh.

  3. Housework? Same time I got it done when I was working which is almost never.

  4. I like your new pin! That's perfect! Is the mysterious flower from the obviously-not-dead flowerhead a sweet william? We had some of that several years ago and it lived a couple of seasons, but it does get straggly.
