Throwback Thursday

Seeing the decorated car at the wedding this past weekend reminded me of our car at our wedding, but I don't have any of those pictures scanned in so you'll just have to wait to see how creative our friends were. Here, instead, are pictures of my truck in Zambia after all the missionary kids stuffed it full of newspaper (which if you've read my Zambia posts you've already seen).

Yes, I paused to read the comics.

    1. I'm not sure - we were all at a meeting. I'm thinking maybe about an hour? They were fast & sneaky!

  2. I love Mary's question before mine. My question is... how long did it take you to undo that... including perusing the funnies page?

  4. I haven't seen these pictures before so this is fresh news to me, even if the articles in all those newspapers are old news.

  5. Were these Zambian newspapers? For some reason, I'm surprised that Zambian newspapers would have comics.

The picture of you stopping to read the paper reminded me of one time when I received a Christmas package from Germany. This was well before the internet, so hometown news was non-existent for me. I remember my sister and mother had stuffed the box with crumpled newspapers to protect the contents in the package. I smoothed out all those pages and read them all.

  6. LOL -- I think I kind of remember this. Maybe I read your previous post. Anyway, it's a hilarious stunt. And yes, I used to read the packing paper when I lived in Morocco, too!

  7. I think they did it because they liked you. It's a clever prank. No one gets hurt and nothing gets damaged.
