Throwback Thursday
Last night at choir practice we were learning a new piece with a pretty low alto part. I was singing along, when suddenly I heard my mother's voice come out of my mouth. She didn't sing often - she had no confidence in her singing ability - but when she did sing, her voice was low and mellow. Made me smile. Made me miss her all over again.

You haven't changed a bit Dana, over all these years! How'd you do that?!
ReplyDeletenice that you miss your mom.
ReplyDeleteSame here. Amazing how often little things like that bring back such warm memories. Love the cute little curious can't-sit-still Dana.
ReplyDeleteLike mother like daughter, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteGood set of pictures.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed that you realized that about your mother's voice. What a nice, warm feeling! I don't think I'd recognize my OWN voice.
How great that you have such terrific photo memories of your mom.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are great. And, you've brought back the memory of "my" lullaby -- "Sweet and Low." It's the one time I remember my mother singing, and she had a beautiful voice.
ReplyDeleteThose echos from our past can be quite happily unsettling. I hope that makes some sense, having my first cup of coffee right now and the reboot process is in progress.
ReplyDeleteMy sister was nine years older than me, and she died about eight years ago. We looked a lot alike. Now that I'm getting closer to her age, sometimes I catch my reflection in a mirror or window and remind myself of her. How nice that you have your mother's voice. Your pictures are adorable.
ReplyDeleteI think you should sing to yourself a lot more often now.
ReplyDeletesweet. love the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the nice thoughts everyone!
