2017 Project 365 – Week Forty-five

As you may have noticed, I’ve been playing around with my blog’s look. I’m not sure this is “the one” – for example, you can only see my banner picture on the home page – so who knows how it will look the next time you stop by!
Sunday, November 5th
A thread on Facebook made me remember this star sapphire that my parents gave me in high school. That makes it an antique!

Our new fall wreath. We were amazed to find one at Michaels in amongst all the Christmas decorations.

Monday, November 6th
The only picture from today. I was practicing lifting my knee up – it’s been stiff since the surgery & this is one motion that it’s not very happy about (which makes it tricky to put my underwear on, if you want to know the truth).

Tuesday, November 7th
I told Dr. M that I wanted this Ottlite lamp (you know, for Christmas), and lo & behold here it is! I love it!

Wednesday, November 8th
This is one of my favorite cars from Dr. M’s N scale model train. He has three “tagged” cars – maybe I’ll do a photo shoot of them next week. Go here to see the rest of the train.

Thursday, November 9th
My lunch looks alarmed!

New hat – made it for a friend. It was a lot of fun – I’ll probably make this pattern again.

Friday, November 10th
I got a Peach Tea Dum Dum at the post office! It was pretty tasty.

Time to bring the plants in for the winter (or for now anyway). The average temp on Saturday was 37 degrees!

Saturday, November 11th
We took Dr. M’s father out for lunch.

And then we saw this on the way home. Love these fuzzy Highland cows.

I know that I am TERRIBLE at responding to your comments on my blog, but I love it when other bloggers do it. I’m not saying I’ll do any better from now on, but I did go back & respond on the last two posts. So, hope for the future!

  1. I love your lamp! Now I want a reading chair like that, with a cool lamp like yours next to it. LOL at your plants hibernating in your tub. I have a friend with a ton of orchids and whenever they announce temperatures in the 30's around here, he brings his orchids into the house and puts them in the bathtubs. He calls it "the march of the orchids."

  2. I agree; that's a terrific looking lamp. Just the thing to curl up and read by on a cold winter night.

    1. Yes! I'm very happy with it. It has three light settings, so it will be very versatile.

  3. I remember you saying you were going to plunk the plants into the tub. They actually look great there, and it certainly will make watering them easier.

Your star sapphire ring is gorgeous. I had one, long, long ago, but it disappeared, and I'm still sure my college roommate stole it. Sigh. At this point in my life, I don't wear rings any more, but it would be nice to have it. Ah, well. Easy come, easy go!

    1. My mother let me wear one of her rings when I was in the 6th grade. I loved that ring & was devastated when I lost it. Especially because she didn't have many things from her girlhood.

That really looks more like art.

  5. I don't wear any jewelry anymore either, even my wedding/engagement rings. But that sapphire ring is lovely. I had a green one, but the original blue ones are the prettiest.

    1. I don't know if I've even seen a green star sapphire - I'll have to keep my eye out to see what they look like.

I don't wear any jewelry unless I'm leaving the house. I joke that I'm a single woman when I'm not wearing my wedding rings, but that's pretty much meaningless at this point in my life. Ha!

    1. Not in that behemoth! I tried once, but ran out of hot water before it was half full.

    1. I usually get a cherry Dum Dum when I go to the post office, but apparently so does everyone else. It was either Peach Tea or Mystery Flavor - and I wasn't feeling very adventurous. Ha!

  8. Your sandwich does look alarmed! LOL Your wreath is pretty.
That cow's hair looks way too much like mine in the morning. It's even the same color.

    1. Ha! Wait until you see the picture I took of my hair the other day - my sandwich would have been extra alarmed to see it!

  9. I vote for this blogger theme because it finally lets me comment using OpenID so the link back to my blog works. Before I had to comment using a Google account that I no longer use. Nice.

    1. Cool! I'll probably still use one of the more "modern" schemes, but I'm still playing around. Let me know if it stops working for you!
