2020 Project 365 – Week Forty-six

People, I am whupped. As you will see later, I finally dusted today. And vacuumed & mopped. I should do the bathrooms, but they’ll just have to wait. We are all about energy (or the lack thereof) management here in the Bug Household.

Sunday, November 8th

Sunday morning was just lovely!

I made pear zucchini bread, even though we didn’t have a lot of the ingredients. What’s hilarious is we replaced our flour, baking soda, and baking powder because they were so old, but we forgot to check all the recipe ingredients. It was pretty good anyway – almost worth the mess!

Monday, November 9th

Fall foliage.

Meanwhile, Amazon has lost its mind.

Tuesday, November 10th

New Facebook profile picture.

Wednesday, November 11th

Veteran’s Day. You’ve already seen Heather pilgrim in last Wednesday’s post, but she is worth looking at again.

Thursday, November 12th

The last (?) daylily for the year. Plus, Peaches the Knockout Rose says that it was raining leaves! We had torrential rain & the power went out just as I was getting ready to take a shower.

Friday, November 13th

Happy Happy Birthday to Dr. M! I found the cutest little cake & then put WAY TOO MANY candles on it & had quite the conflagration going on. I tried to carry it into the living room, but ended up having to blow out the candles myself because I was in danger of setting myself on fire. Oops.

Saturday, November 14th

I haven’t dusted in quite a while. It is my least favorite chore. I know that I’m just rebelling against my mother every time I don’t dust, but I am allowed to still be 12 years old in some areas, right?

You may have noticed that I had TWO posts on Wednesday. One was the lovely guest post by Dr. M showing our Thanksgiving decorations. The other one was my book review post that I meant to schedule to post next Wednesday. Oops again. It feels like every day this week I’ve had some sort of oops moment. How about you? Smooth sailing in your life?

  1. What I've got to know is -- did you make a wish before you blew out the candles? I wonder if proxy-candle-blowing works? Anyway: happy birthday to Dr. M! Here's to a better year ahead.

I laughed at your Amazon recommendation. I'm constantly getting recommendations from YouTube, Google, Wordpress, and such that have absolutely nothing to do with my interests. That's ok -- I can ignore with the best of them.

    1. I think in the moment I was mostly just wishing to not be on fire - ha! What a waste...

  2. Oh, good! A post with cake, and it's a lovely little cake. I hope it tasted good. The recommendation algorithms are a complete Hail Mary sometimes, I think. I'm often astounded at what I'm offered as a possible interest. Happy Birthday to The Professor.

    1. The cake was fabulous! I'm pretty proud that I got the smallest one because I ate 3/4 of it.

    1. Dr. M mulched the leaves yesterday & today you can't even tell - lots of wind this morning!

  4. Beautiful trees in your part of the world. Ours are losing leaves also but they're just brown - no colors. As far as I'm concerned, the only other thing to use zucchini for, other than bread, is pickle relish!

    1. Ooo - I've never had zucchini pickle relish! I like it chopped up in salads, and stir fried into random dishes (including my oatmeal). But we have established that I am weird.

  5. My wife and I have really fallen off the cleaning wagon lately with so much going on. It was last Tuesday that I noticed the severity of the dust on the television and the table which it sits.

It was bad. So bad that I used two different dusting cloths to get everything up.

Smooth sailing? Sort of, I'm sleeping better since President-elect Biden became a reality. But good old Lindsey Graham is talking trash about his Orange Buddy fighting to overturn the election. He's a vile, little man who quivers whichever way the wind is blowing.

    1. Thanks! It looks good for about one day of my wash cycle (wash day is ugh, the day after I curl it & it looks ok, the next two days are just ok, and then it gets washed again). Ha!

  7. Is that last photo supposed to be showing us dust? That is NOTHING. I could build a small animal out of the dust I wipe off our shelves -- and I feel like we're pretty neat! Different standards, I suppose. :)

    1. Oh there was definitely a LOT more dust in some other areas. I don't know why one room might look like it snowed & another room just has a light dusting. Weird!

Thanks for stopping by - I'd love to hear what you have to say!

Merry Christmas!

Housecleaning I’m supposed to be cleaning my house. Those shelves won’t dust themselves!  And I’m kind of afraid to look in the crisper dr...
