2025 Project 365 – Week Fifteen

My lime green polish started chipping almost right away, so it went into the trash & my nails are nekkid AGAIN. I’m not really meant for the manicure life…

Sunday, April 6th

I was wearing my penguin toppers in solidarity with the tariffed penguins. Leave my penguins alone!

Meanwhile, Dr. M’s brunch was adorable.

I got some new toppers in the mail (I had a gift card from a coworker!). This small business has the option of letting the creator choose the finish & I always do (because I figure she knows best). Well, she picked the glow in the dark finish for these Down Syndrome toppers and I was absolutely tickled pink. Also, I’m pretty sure I would terrify Elliott if he saw me wearing these in the dark.

Monday, April 7th

Here’s another topper from that order. This one makes me very happy too.

Tuesday, March April 8th

I sent this photo to Dr. M to show him the bag of pretzels that greeted the small pouch of pretzels I had brought for lunch. How is one Bug supposed to keep track of all her snacks? (P.S. Note the already chipped polish.)

When I got home from work my latest square had a photo op. No coral on this one. Sorry!

Wednesday, April 9th

Dr. M made braised chuck roast with rice and broccoli and I have to say that my low iron is definitely not his fault. So yummy!

Thursday, April 10th

I went to my local yarn shop (LYS) to look for wool wash and saw this bag. I might have to go back & buy it!

Friday, April 11th

Dr. M brought home another hanging basket, and our azalea is blooming.

Saturday, March April 12th

Dr. M says: Today’s sunset marks the beginning of Passover, according to the Hebrew calendar. As is often the case, Passover, or Pesach in anglicized Hebrew, coincides with the first full moon after the vernal equinox. In North America, this is the Pink Moon, named for the native pink phlox. Ours in Plateau is beginning to fade, even as azaleas are in their glory. I don’t know if I will have a clear sky overhead tonight, but I’ll try to catch the Pink Moon if I can. For all my Jewish friends and those of us who love them, Chag Pesach Sameach!

The father-in-law of one of our fab four passed away this week, so Kim, her husband, and I drove up to the mountains to the visitation. There’s still so much devastation there, 6 months after Helene swept through. It was a reminder to me that things that are torn down don’t get rebuilt overnight. So, if we survive this current administration, it will be a while before we can recognize our country again.

  1. Your final paragraph is a sobering one, and so very true. The carefully designed democratic government and its attending systems that had been working--for us!--for so long are being devastated and ravaged. And all in less than 90 days.

The horizon looks far away and not so bright right now.

  2. Love the new square. When I got married the first time those were my colors.

It's possible that this administration will so weaken the government and this country that it will not recover and eventually break up into smaller countries. No strong central government to keep it together, states will coalesce into larger self determinant regions.

    1. Yeah - I'm feeling pretty pessimistic right now.

  3. The penguins will be glad to know that you're on their side. (Was there ever any doubt?!)

I do like the sheep bag!

It's always much easier to tear things down than to build them.

    1. That sheep bag is definitely going on the list. I might pretend I'm getting it for Dr. M's birthday & then "borrow" it.

  4. That smiley-face breakfast made me laugh -- and it reminded me of one of my favorite home free videos, called "I Still Believe in You." There are a couple of vingiettes tucked into the middle of the video that I think will make you laugh, too.

I had no idea how 'pink moon' came to be. Is that a modern concoction? It isn't one of the natural/Native American based names I learned years ago. I knew the April moon as the planters' moon, but sometimes it was called the flower moon, which clearly is related to the pink moon and the pretty pink phlox. One thing's certain: Dr. M has good taste in hanging baskets. I love that pink and purple combination.

    1. He really does - I'm always happy to come home to a new basket.

  5. I presume you'd give that bag to Dr. M if you buy it! I love your "toppers".

    1. Well, I would start out by giving it to him, but then I'd probably "borrow" it. Ha!

Thanks for stopping by - I'd love to hear what you have to say!
