I’m not talking about how much my arm hurts
Or how sitting in the car for a long time
Is a pain in my injured patooty.
I’m not.
I’m not talking about the overwhelm
The obvious and the layered
The things of which we cannot speak.
I’m not.
I’m not talking about unfulfilled commitments
The grief and yes the relief
The longing for simple.
I’m not.
There is sun glinting off of water
And the promise of grass
And blessed autonomy.
Get a move on little girl!

ReplyDeleteThe grief and yes the relief
The longing for simple."

ReplyDeleteYour new house looks great, and YES you can sit in your backyard during the summer, in the evening on hot days (with lots of bug spray) but during the day after big thunderstorms roll through.
I'll imagine you with your feet up, enjoying your garden.
I loved this post.
ReplyDeleteHopefully nothing a nice rest in the backyard on a summer's day with a cool drink won't cure?
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself. Rest and relax. Nurture your spirit. Put your face in the sunshine today.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to sit outdoors in your gorgeous back yard and let the sun soak through to your bones. You seem to have been doing a lot lately.
ReplyDeleteYour new house is gorgeous, by the way. Just perfect!
For some reason, my last comment is attached to an old blog I used to have... Weird.
