Yesterday
evening we had a small thunderstorm which cooled the temps sufficiently for Dr.
M to make a fire (admittedly it doesn’t take much to have him wanting to make a
fire). We roasted marshmallows! We each ate three & felt slightly ill
afterward. Next time we’ll just go with one or two each.
I look stoned in this picture, but I promise it was just the sweetness of the mallow getting to me. Heh. |
I’m
six pounds down in my weight loss journey so far. That’s right – it has only
taken me 5 weeks to lose 6 pounds. Actually, I guess that’s right in line with
the recommended rate of weight loss. But it sure seems a lot of work for a
little bit of return. On the other hand, I can now check “moves at least 30
minutes per day” on the intake form at my doctor’s office instead of
“inactive.”
I
thought this was a good idea at the time; however, in practice it mostly makes
me crave split pea soup. That can’t be good, can it? I’m taking the bottle to a
coworker tomorrow – her 4 year old daughter will love this shade. Sigh.
Our
high was “only” in the lower 90s today, and as usual I was freezing at work. I
was remembering why I don’t wear sandals to the office – frozen toe syndrome.
Although I guess that green shade would really complement blue toes – it’s
practically a preppy combination! Ah, if I were wearing an Izod the trip down
memory lane would be complete…
Your toes remind me of how much I love green olives. And the martinis they belong in.
ReplyDeleteAt least you have toenails. Some sort of fungus attacked mine and a couple of them look more like dried-up corn kernels than nails. If I painted them it would look like I was punctuating my toes.
ReplyDeleteI kind of dig that shade of green! Love your Izod reference. Remember those? And Polos. I had tons of colored Polos.
ReplyDeleteThe nails remind me of avocados.
ReplyDeleteWonder what's with some of us automatically thinking of food items when we see your green toe nails? :)
I thought I had gone over the Green Toenail Issue back at the Dept.
ReplyDeleteSigh.
Mmmmm, toasted marshmallows! YUM!
ReplyDeleteLove the toe color! LOVE!
what was that line that Adam sandler told the kids about getting stoned? Something with sugar? That's what you look like ;)
ReplyDeleteA fire? You must be like Richard Nixon when he cranked up the air conditioner so he could have a fire.
ReplyDeleteLower 90 and you were freezing? don't come and live here Dana ....the garden is a jungle with the rain...I'll ship some over ...if I could!! lovely post!
ReplyDeleteLove a fire pit...wish I had one!
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the green...
Blessings

Mmm....posting miscellany on Monday means I might read it on Tuesday! Time does fly.
ReplyDeleteThe green toenails...definitely margaritas!
Good work on the six pounds. It really does take time. Love the green toes!
ReplyDeleteYou look not stoned, but kind of warm in that picture. Must have been the marshmallow!
ReplyDeleteI love the green toes.
The last time I had smores with the kids...the marshmallow made me really sick because of the sweetness. I wonder if they upped the sugar content in them.
ReplyDeleteI love smores...but as a diabetic they don't happen much anymore. Love the toe color....I have wanted to get brave and have art...or some odd color done to mine...and ocme home with a pink or copper color everytime. just cant get up the nerve.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on those pounds! I'm down four, so you're ahead of me - but I'm convinced that on Sunday I'll discover I've made five. Taking off five pounds sounds so encouraging - I'll head for ten.
ReplyDeleteI brought you something I just ran across - this link about President Bush's visit recently to Zambia. It's a great article. I thought would would enjoy seeing it.
