A Year in the Life of a White Oak

I got the bright idea to take a picture of the fabulous tree in our back yard at about the same time of day one day each month. I made a (very) rudimentary video, which I can't figure out how to preview, so we'll just see what happens when this posts 😳!

  1. I LOVE that. I tried doing that with our tree in the front yard every day during fall to catch the color change... that was the year that it was so warm, no leaves changed color. Leaves hung on the tree till November & nothing changed. They just all dropped off in one day. So much for that project

  2. What a great idea! The change from April to May is dramatic, isn't it?

    2. I will say that I had to click on the play button twice for it to work.

  4. I've had that idea about the native pecan at the back of my property or the cotton field at the end of the street (planted with corn this year) but never followed through. amazing that it went leafless to fully leafed out from one picture to the next.

    1. I stopped the monthly pictures, but I think I'll start taking a picture every day this month to show the leafing out - & then again in the fall.

  6. Way cool! I've something similar with a tree, back when we lived in New York. A picture every day to show the leaves come out. I'm looking forward to your daily pictures!
