2025 Project 365 – Week Three

You know, once snow stops falling it’s kind of annoying. Just FYI.

Sunday, January 12th

Out back. One of these birds is not like the others.

Dr. M outdid himself. Again.

Monday, January 13th

The moon!

Tuesday, January 14th

How it started and how it ended up. This was surprisingly meditative!

Wednesday, January 15th

No photo.

Thursday, January 16th

I’m the person who manages the process of random nicotine testing at work. I pull the list of eligible employees and run them through a randomizer. I was highly amused when I ended up on the list. I should probably have taken myself off because is it really a random test when I have a heads up?

Friday, January 17th

No photo of our own, but the poor boys were sick with flu (and Elliott had strep & an ear infection). Elliott had a spend a few nights in the hospital, but he’s home now - and now their parents are sick. Poor little family… (but I confess it made me smile when I saw the blanket I made Elliott.)

Saturday, January 18th

I got a new phone case that makes me laugh - it matches my personality perfectly (a combination of everything is going to be fine (even if it isn’t) and OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING.

I think I’ve settled into resignation about the new/old era that starts tomorrow. I plan to spend the day crocheting and listening to the audio of this book. How are you doing? Oh! I just looked a little bit ago & our low is going to be 11 degrees on Tuesday. Woot?

  1. I laughed at your 'special bird.' But inquiring minds want to know: what's with that nicotine testing? I've never heard of such a thing. What's the point? My compliments on the moon photos!

    1. My employer assesses a surcharge on employees who use nicotine - it's considered an avoidable health risk that drives up health insurance costs. I haven't checked out the data so I don't know if that's accurate.

  2. I was wondering the same thing about the nicotine testing. and our low on Tuesday in now only one degree higher than yours! NOT FAIR!

  3. Our HIGH today is 11, and we've already reached it. Just saying.

Cleveland Clinic also charges more for nicotine users. They also charge less if you are within a certain weight range. No soda machines there anywhere, either.

    1. We have other risk factors too - BMI/waist, BP, etc. I'm trying to talk them into something more incentivizing instead of punitive.

  4. Don't feel so bad about that low temperature. It was 19 here at 7 this morning and I live in ARIZONA!!!!
