2024 Project 365 – Week Thirty-three

I have had such a lazy day! I did like two housekeeping things and otherwise read my book and played on my iPad. It’s been lovely.

Sunday, August 18th

I’ve been working on a project for someone that calls for three strands of yarn held together. It’s interesting seeing the way that changes the look of the project. I’m using up some of my stash, so it will be even weirder before it’s done.

Monday,  August 19th

This is probably niche content, but I had to laugh when I saw the Connections game today. It was as if the person who created it was making a political statement (just google Kamala Harris, coconut tree and brat if you’re curious).

Tuesday, August 20th

I haven’t really talked about work lately. Things are going well! Today we met with a new specialist who helped a lot with some glitches we’ve been having. I look forward to meeting with her again & getting more proficient in the new system.

Wednesday, August 21st

Stayed up way too late the night before watching the Democratic National Convention (and I didn’t even make it until Biden’s speech).

Thursday, August 22nd

Had a dream about my mom and asked the socials for their interpretation: All right you analyzers of dreams, analyze this! Last night I dreamed that I had only gotten my mother one Christmas present so I immediately went online to order the biggest container of Raisinettes ever. Two notes: Mom passed away over 19 years ago, and although I think she liked chocolate covered raisins just fine, I don’t recall that being “her” go-to treat. Here’s my interpretation: seeing all the lovely parents at the DNC was making me miss my mom, and that made me want a snack.

Watched the last night of the DNC. Oh man - such a good convention! So uplifting and joyful that I almost didn’t mind all the sleep I didn’t get. The only stain (to me) is that there wasn’t enough attention paid to the situation in Gaza.

Friday, August 23rd

Kamala Harris is known for wearing Chuck Taylor Converse shoes & I decided that I needed some too. I went to a store and tried some on & thought, “Hmmm. This feels really familiar.” Yeah - I went home and found the ones I bought many years ago. Ha!

Saturday, August 24th

This is a Ms. Pinky Two Tone stan account. Also pictured, the neighbor’s crepe myrtle tree (it’s been a good year for them).

Right this minute I’m listening to Dr. M sing a gospel song set to Danny Boy. And watching the Braves play in a nail-biter. And working on this post. What have you been doing this weekend?

2024 Project 365 – Week Thirty-two

I’m sitting here working on my post & just noticed that our sort of palm-treeish plant in the dining area is trying to poke a hole in the ceiling. Hmm. We might have to find a home for it on the floor (it sits on a shelf right now). Okay okay - here’s a picture:

P.S. There is a picture of my face every day this week. Made me laugh!

Sunday, August 11th

I went to church so I could listen to women preach!

Monday,  August 12th

Seen around the yard.

Meanwhile, I was at the dentist. They have a lovely view…

Tuesday, August 13th

After work conversations. (Dr. M was all what are you doing & I was all I’m taking my BeReal photo for the day.)

Wednesday, August 14th

Cackling on my way to work over something on my audiobook.

Thursday, August 15th

From the Socials: Thoughts while getting ready this morning:

1.  Do I have the nerve to wear this outfit?

2.  Is it actually an “outfit?”

3.  Should I have ironed it? 😂😂😂

4.  What is up with my hair?

5.  Oh well, I’m not the one who has to look at me all day.

6.  Go to work already!

Friday, August 16th

Also from the Socials: In other wardrobe related news, I need better lighting while getting dressed because these glasses totally matched my top in the bedroom mirror.

Saturday, August 17th

Dr. M was wondering if synchronized goating would be at the next Olympics. He might have a couple of contenders!

I went to my friend Jenny’s house for a pool party (there were just three of us - it was more of a pool gossip-solve-all-the-world’s-problems session). Got my annual sunburn! (The last time I went to her house was about this time last year.)

Do you ever just feel like you’re always letting everyone down all the time? I said yes to a thing this weekend, but then said no to another one & that’s what I’m focused on. Do I really not do things because I have a really weak social battery or am I just an asshole? What about you - do you say yes more than you want to & resent it? Or no & then feel guilty? Or are you normal? (That last question is a joke - I don’t think any of us is normal!)

2024 Project 365 – Week Thirty-one

This week’s post will be short and sweet because there are two days without photos and I’m feeling rather nappish at the moment.

Sunday, August 4th

Dr. M spent some quality time chopping veggies, including a tomato with a heart shaped bruise. Awww….

Monday,  August 5th

Asked him to remind me of how the No Nothing party got its name. So anyway did you know I was married to a historian? And did you know that being anti-immigrant is nothing new?

Tuesday, August 6th

I was at my dad’s when he said to quick look out back. Mama deer and some freshly hatched fawns. And that’s another awwww moment.

Wednesday, August 7th

My coworker got me this sticker which I promptly put on my work laptop. Fun fact - today someone gave my pastor a t-shirt with that same logo on it. Ha!

Thursday, August 8th

No photo.

Friday, August 9th

No photo

Saturday, August 10th

The goat herd has increased at Dr. M’s dad’s house. Ha! These are the neighbors goats, and Pop gives them the stink eye, but Dr. M & I think they’re great.

There are so many heavy things happening in the world. Gaza, infuriating stripping of Olympic medals, the expected (but annoying) ramping up of political rhetoric, me having to help employees through the retirement process instead of being the one who gets to retire (that last one isn’t actually that heavy - I mostly like my job). What do you do when you feel beaten down by life?

2024 Project 365 – Week Thirty

Once again I did not work this weekend, although I did bring my laptop home and plan to do a couple of things that will make my Monday morning a little easier. I hesitate to say it, but I think that the worst has passed. Fingers crossed!

Sunday, July 28th

I was so excited when this player got a hit that I had a mishap with my glasses. Ha!

Monday, July 29th

We had us a gulleywasher!

Tuesday, July 30th

We spent some quality time watching the GOAT this week (as well as a number of other ridiculously talented athletes).

Wednesday, July 31st

This is the only “picture” - a screenshot of me purchasing a crochet pattern at 10:30 at night. An acquaintance had texted asking if I could make something for her cat, and since I’m feeling a little more kindly toward cats lately & the pattern looked kind of fun, I thought I’d give it a go.

Thursday, August 1st

“I’m gettin’ old, Mike!” says the 92 year old…

Friday, August 2nd

Absolute chaos this morning trying to brush my teeth with my right hand while simultaneously scrolling my phone with my left hand. Did I hit all four quadrants with my toothbrush? At this point only the Shadow knows. (Note: I was trying to access the app that controls the smart plug that runs the fan in the bedroom - I wanted to turn it off. Also note that the phone was on the counter to my right. It kind of reminded me of when Dr. M & I were trying to do that twining arms cake smash thing at our wedding.)

Saturday, August 3rd

Smoky says there are all manner of lawn mowers out back! The neighbors goats have been having a grand old time in Dr. M’s dad’s yard.

I have nothing else to say here, so feel free to talk amongst yourselves!

2024 Project 365 – Week Fifty

A couple of days have extra photos and I’m not even going to apologize.  Sunday, December 15th        It was our anniversary! One of our m...
