Junior Mozart Music
Club
Mrs. Hart did her best.
Eighth note and arpeggio,
B Major and Für Elise
floated around my
adolescent head
looking for all the world
like that new top
I saw at the mall,
and sounding like
Saturday morning cartoons.
My metronome gathered dust
and I was (obviously)
not a star at the
quarterly meeting of the
Junior Mozart Music Club.
At least I looked cute for my piano recital :) |
You certainly LOOK like a star!
ReplyDeletenicely done....thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteQuite an elegant dress -- seems like it might have made pedaling the piano a challenge, though!
ReplyDeletefor some reason that dress makes you look disproportionally tall - i think its the high waistband
ReplyDeleteIn our music class in the period of two years we saw one Xylophone between two children - once. The rest of the time was spent watching our teacher sip her coffee, call us "people" and ask us to keep quiet (the coffee was there for a reason)
Oh, and interesting factoid - Mozart's first name isn't Wolfgang - It's Johannes
All god's children got a place in the choir...where you found your niche, Bug.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie you were (and are).
Yes, once "Fur Elise" gets into your head, it won't let up. :-)
ReplyDeleteI took piano for about a year. I do wish now I could play the piano.
ReplyDeleteNice one! And you do still look cute.
ReplyDelete....but you were adorable!!
ReplyDeleteIn that picture you show the confidence of a child protege.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed. You did look cute for your recital.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the others ... you certainly LOOK like a star (I suspect you were in reality.)
ReplyDeleteButter wouldn't melt :) Love the photo and the Mag.
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteYou should have been in the Mickey Mouse Club. You're perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou were adorable! I took seven years of piano lessons...which didn't take...
ReplyDeleteI once was at a piano concert, big fancy do with a famous artist playing Beethoven, and someone's cell phone went off. Fur Elise. Went off for a whole minute. I think the owner was too embarrassed to make a move for it.
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable in your fancy party dress.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she the cutest thing? Love your poem, Bug...
ReplyDeleteYour poem reminds me of my piano lesson days. I dreaded those recitals!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I'd better go practice...
