I used my entire kitchen counter (tiny as it is) & parts of the sink & stove-top to assemble the ingredients for my lunch the next day.
Worth it? Oh yeah!
Ingredients: spinach, grilled chicken, feta cheese, almonds, strawberries, blueberries, chopped apple.
I still have yet to embrace the whole fruits and vegetables living together in harmony in the same salad thing. I think someone would have to make it and then I try it before I'll do it at home. Someday maybe...
ReplyDeleteI got this idea from the Wendy's berry almond salad. You could get a half size one just to see what you think - that would be a pretty cheap & easy way to go :)
DeleteThat looks delicious. And you say you don't cook!
ReplyDeleteWell, if you want to call throwing random things on a plate cooking...
DeleteThat looks like a wonderful meal. You can make this for me anytime.
ReplyDeleteSure! Next time you're in Ohio :)
DeleteYum!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteLooks yummy! I love all the ingredients.
ReplyDeleteYep - some of my favorites.
Deleteoooo. I want that!
ReplyDelete:)
Deleteyum... wanna make my lunch? :)
ReplyDeleteLooks delish! I can't say that I think of "wordless" when I think of you, but then, I know you from FB too.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that I'm not particularly wordless - ha!
Deletedoes look rather good, and very healthy
ReplyDeleteIt was until I doused it in dressing (just kidding - the dressing was pretty healthy too).
DeleteAdd a Krispy Kreme (or two) for dessert, and it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteGet thee behind me Nancy! (But leave the donuts behind - ha!).
DeleteI love everything that's in your salad...but I just can't get used to the thought that meat and fruit are in the same dish. Fruit (in my world) is separate, the dessert, what you eat after the main meal. I know it's becoming popular now to mix it together...
ReplyDeleteOf course, when I first met my ex-husband and he made me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, I gave him a look and incredulously asked him, "You put salty peanut butter and sweet jelly on the same sandwich?" And now I eat PBJ's all the time.
I don't usually like fruit mixed with my dinner, but this is an exception for me - I love the sweet & savory mix.
DeleteFirst three ingredients, plus blueberries, and I'm there for lunch, baby. Can't eat the others.
ReplyDeleteThis morning I rode to Panera and wanted one of their yogurt parfaits -- which have strawberries. They very kindly made me a fresh one with blueberries. Yummm...the granola was the perfect touch!
Sorry you had to ride at 9pm to beat the heat -- I hope you have good lights on!
I'll have to try one of those parfaits - that sounds delicious!
DeleteOh that looks good. I love salads with loads of different stuff in them. Yum!
