ReplyDeleteI thought of you on my ride today -- I had "shades of poetry" running through my brain. Here's the start:
ReplyDeleteA detour today, into the glade, eager to see if Spring had indeed arrived.
Through the scrub of leftover winter-strangled plants, the movement of
small birds assured me, that indeed, something was happening.
A sudden burst of color red, quickly followed by blue and orange,
dangerously crossing the path in front of my bicycle wheel alerted me
that the cardinals and bluebirds are aware that Spring is almost here
and are competing for scarce nesting space.
Wait...I see about 500 trees in my immediate vicinity. What are they fighting over?
