2018 Project 365 – Week Thirty-nine

This was a rough week, nationally. At least from where I’m sitting it was rough. And yet I feel so numb from All The Things that my outrage seems muted. I’m pretty darned tired. And yet we soldier on.
Sunday, September 23rd
This helps a lot – our wildflower bed is still sending out surprises for us. This week it was a zinnia to go with the blanket flowers & forget-me-nots.

Man, I just really suck at parking.

Monday, September 24th
No picture today – just a screen shot of a page from the book I was reading (the latest J.D. Robb). I think she has a point. Ha!

Tuesday, September 25th
I worked on this baby blanket all week & kept asking people for advice about the border. Today’s question was: add the last row of gray, or not?

Wednesday, September 26th
I had a low tire pressure warning on my way home from work. My sweetie checked all the tires & then pumped up the low one – in the rain! He’s the best.

Thursday, September 27th
Your weekly furniture.

Friday, September 28th
Did I mention that I suck at parking?

Dr. M went to the grocery store & was assaulted by Pumpkin Spice Everything.

I finished the blanket!

Saturday, September 29th
Is there anything better than an impatiens popper?

The Roy getting some excellent attention from Dr. M.

I super-duper struggled with this square – I don’t really like how any of the colorways turned out. But they’re done. Moving on now!

The weekend is almost over & I don’t really feel ready for a new work week. I haven’t packed my lunch or picked out what I’m wearing tomorrow. I guess I’d better hop to it. What are your essential Sunday night tasks?

  1. Agree with you on the rough week. I don't know if I want to watch the news, or if I want to stick my head in the sand and ignore everything until it's all over.

Pumpkin Spice Everything is all over the stores here, too. We still have temperatures in the 90's though, so it's hard to reconcile the two.

On Sunday evenings I usually wrap up the laundry duties - I may not be fashionable, but I need clean clothes for work.

    1. Thank goodness Dr. M usually does our clothing laundry during the week - so I don't have to worry about that!

It's been in the 80s here still - I'm still wearing sandals!

  2. With you on the week... have honestly avoided much of the news. Not because I don’t care but because I care too much and my emotional energy tank is running on empty these days. My heart is breaking at how the world sees far too many “Christians” act/react in our society today. No love, no grace, no Mercy. There seems to be no end to how low we’ll go. *sigh* Beautiful job on the blanket!

    1. Thanks! I was pretty pleased about the blanket. And in total agreement with you about how sad things are...

  3. I was pretty much engulfed in rage all all week over the antics of our Orange Cthulhu. What took the cake for me was how the idiot was rightfully laughed at by the United Nations General Assembly. I apologize for my statements and will refrain from further commentary.

    1. Oh no - I am in total agreement with you. It's so enraging that I'm perpetually exhausted. Sigh.

  4. I like those last four squares! Very cool! And I'm impressed that you have forget-me-nots at this time of year. Ours have been finished for months.

    1. It's still been in the 80s here! I guess we'll be having fall for Thanksgiving maybe?

  5. the furniture continues to amaze and amuse. this has been a horrible week. the ugliness of republicans was on full display from Kavanaugh and McConnell and Graham. I am wrung out, disgusted, dismayed and they will vote K in no matter what. a jurist who is supposed to be impartial making threats to the opposition because they dared to expose how unsuitable he is.

    1. I already emailed you - but in case someone comes back & looks here - I usually pop them & then put the seeds back in the flower bed in the hope that they'll come back next year!
