My second dose of pain meds is about to kick in, so this will be brief. I survived my surgery - glad to have the easy part over. Now on to physical therapy - yikes!
My doctor said that the arthritis in that hip might have been caused by the construction of my hip at birth - something wasn't quite right. I had wondered how I got arthritis in that hip at age 41!
Here are some pictures from today - keep in mind that I look ROUGH. It's to be expected I reckon. But I have no shame, so I don't have any problems posting these. Heh.

We just really like this chair in my room :) |

Wherever we go there's always a sheep. Ha! |

Mike got me a penguin pillow pet! Her name is Mavis & I will be sleeping with her tonight. |
Well, tomorrow is predicted to be rough - apparently they take their physical therapy seriously around here. You know I'll be letting you know how it goes - but maybe not until later this week.
Well, the baseball game is about to start. Have a great week everyone!
Glad you have the baseball game for distraction. I imagine by the time it's over you'll be ready for some sleep! I appreciate the updates Dr. M provided on FB--that was nice as I sweated out the day in my sauna office--something positive to keep me going!
ReplyDeletePost when you can and grin and bear the therapy. It's important! Hugs to you.
Ahh so glad you made it through the surgery and that your meds are doing you well. Hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI am oh so glad that the surgery is over and especially that all went well. I'll keep sending positive thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteglad to see you smiling in all those pictures. and what's up with sheep. a sheep? sheep sounds plural. they need a different word for one sheep.
ReplyDeleteYou look good, like one happy camper. I hope tomorrow is okay, but it probably won't be so good. Yet, the day will come soon when everything is better. Take care!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that that surgery went well!!! praying for your therapy!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I can't believe you took photos that look that good after surgery! I'm so relieved. I was praying all day.
ReplyDeleteI was praying for you this morning, and for Dr. M. Glad to see that the sheep are there in support.
Will keep praying as the PT will be demanding, but you're TOUGH. And hey, if the Tax Time pig can wear purple with such panache, you can do some PT with even more. Think purple!
Pretty amazing ! don't envy you the "Phys-dyz" (that's what we used to call physical therapy.)
ReplyDeleteFantastic that you got through the surgery! Enjoy the meds while you can and we'll all be wishing you a speedy recovery and much fortitude for the physio.
ReplyDeleteThat is such good news and you look amazingly well for someone after surgery, good luck with the physical therapy.
ReplyDeletehooray...Finn looks happy that you are through that o.k.!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! I'm so glad this part is over and I'm wishing you well with the next part. Hope Dr. M is doing will, too!
ReplyDeleteLove, love the pic of you when the meds kicked in.
Hang in there.
I was wondering how it all went!!!! So glad for an update. GIRL - you look AWESOME in your after surgery picture! Hope the physical therapy is bearable! I know its going to be rough - but you can do it!!!
ReplyDeletePS - that is a great chair - haha! (That picture made me laugh)
Brava, Bug ~ Brava! You look terrific. Now, get to that PT, you are going to better than new.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you "up" and about! Tackle that physical therapy, woman!
ReplyDeleteWow. You look way better than I do right now after I woke up, and I didn't have a bigass surgery. I feel...sheepish. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSo help me, if you post a pic of you wearing a tiara and Chanel in PT, I'm coming down there to smack you.
Great news! Take it easy!
ReplyDeletegood luck x
ReplyDeleteDana...!!! I haven't had a chance to visit many blogs lately, and I come to visit you, and you've just had surgery...! You look very sweet and not rough at all. (Must be those meds, hey? *heh*)
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself, young lady! :-)
Get better soon! :)
ReplyDeleteHoney, you don't look rough, you do look a little stoned though, and that's ok. Keeping the pain away will allow you to participate in your rehab more effectively.
ReplyDeleteMavis is cute, but the little lamb is cuter. Baah.
nice...glad all went well and i hope the PT does not kick your tail...been there and can be not much fun...
ReplyDeleteHi Bug - sorry I have not visited for a while! I hope things go really well for you. You sound like a very strong woman to me! X
ReplyDeleteDr. M here. I want you all to know how very, very grateful I am for y'all! You are the best. Don't be surprised if The Bug spends a little less time blogging this fall...we might just be out and about taking long walks together :-)
ReplyDeleteYou look GREAT, Dana. Be strong. Keep smiling. Call the PT people the names they love to hear!
ReplyDeleteI hope things have gone well! Definitely keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the sheep called? In German one sheep is ein Schaf, and two sheep are zwei Schafe. I looked twice at the penguin being called mavis. I thought it was a boy.
ReplyDeleteThat chair picture was nice. I always enjoy your humor, Dana! Keep on having fun.
The sheep's name is Clem...such a sweet, comfortable sheep :-)
