We had our portraits done earlier this month for the church directory, & that picture was free, but of course we had to go ahead & get a few more. I wonder if we're the last generation of people who will bother with such things?

These were taken at around 9:00 at night - we were pretty tired. But they're still all right I reckon. |
I didn't really like the hand on the chin thing she had Dr. M do - but goodness, could you have resisted those dimples? I think not! Now I on the other hand look like someone who does a lot of leaning on my hand, and this is true. In fact, as I was looking at the portraits trying to decide how to arrange them in order to take this picture of them, I noticed that I was leaning on the washer with my chin in my hand.
They look great, despite the late hour. Photographers always like to get hands into their photos, and hands CAN be interesting, but sometimes they're a little too reliant on that trick, in my book.
ReplyDeletegood portraits. yah, I don't get the curled fingers against the chin thing either.
ReplyDelete(Leaning on hand right now. The older you get, the heavier your head seems to become. ha ha)
ReplyDeleteI think these are really fine photos of the pair of you. Dr. M looks particularly handsome in that pale blue shirt. You always look good, Dana.

It is a little old-fashioned of a pose, but the pictures are very good of the both of you. Keepers!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I can't remember the last time Mrs. C and I had professional photographs taken.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pictures!!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting ready to do a picture directory at our church - they asked me to do the pictures... should be interesting
so no weird hands for guys? Right? :)
:-) I'm sure you'll do a GREAT job!
DeleteGreat shots. You guys make an awesome looking couple.
ReplyDeleteThanks, y'all! They are good pictures.
ReplyDelete♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteYou guys are such a cute couple!
You guys look so cute. I've thought that about the "last generation of people" to do this. I thought my grandkids would get professional pics every year or two, but no. They've never had one. Their mom takes lots of wonderful shots, but they've never done the dressy-up-and-go-to-studio-to-get-our-picture-taken kind of thing. Digital cameras have made photographers of us all.
ReplyDeleteAw you guys are too nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I almost (ALMOST) miss having film and printed photographs. As it is, I take and store tons of photographs digitally and rarely print them at all.
ReplyDeleteI want to know why he looks so much more mischievous in his solo portrait than with your calming presence next to him....hmmm...
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. And I agree, I think we're the last generation who will do this kind of thing. Our church has gone to the name/address/phone/e-mail only format -- but trust me, with kids in school, those portrait companies are making out like bandits. They now offer school photos twice a year (kids change so much) as well as sports portraits, and all the special occasion stuff...it never ends.
