I’m thankful for the life of Frances, my mother-in-law who
flew away today. She had her flaws (lord help the green bean that ended up on
her stove), but she gave me the gift of her son. She never resented me &
seemed thrilled that I was in Dr. M’s life. We got along really well.
I’ll miss her country style ham and pies. I’ll miss the “grab
bag” of the spare bedroom home shopping network loot (you never knew what you might get for Christmas). I’ll miss her and Dr. M’s dad arguing like the old
married couple they were. And I’ll just miss her.
Goodbye Frances – thanks for being a wonderful
mother-in-law!
For our families: Dr.
M & I will be travelling to NC early Friday morning.
So sorry for your loss! You are blessed to have been able to be so close. My husbands parents both passed away when he was a small child...I hate that I never got the opportunity to meet them.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss Dana and Dr. M.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I was blessed with a wonderful mother-in-law, too. She passed away in 1996. I miss her terribly.

ReplyDeleteIt's good to look back and remember all the wonderful things (or green beans, sometime I think the most precious memories are the ones that fall into this category) about the people we love who have gone on before us!

ReplyDeletePrayers for travel safety and that the Gospel will be clearly communicated in commemorating this wonderful woman's life!
If, when I go, the worst they can say is that I was mean to Green Beans, I'll be thankful!
Have a safe journey. I'll be thinking of you and the family this weekend.
