Anyway, I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket, so I dragged Dr. M to Kohl's this afternoon. Yes, I totally removed the gotcha factor by leaving this in the dressing room. But I signed it, sort of, so there's that little risk.
I didn't buy the sweater - it was HUGE! |
In this mirror
you are a whey faced
pig-eyed crone.
Your thighs are members
of the redwood forest
sisterhood.
Your ass is an
entire mountain range.
This mirror lies.
Repeat after me:
I am beautiful
and I deserve
beautiful things.
I am beautiful
and I deserve
beautiful things.
I am beautiful.
--The Bug, Bug’s Eye View
You ARE beautiful and you DO deserve beautiful things!
ReplyDeleteThe mirror ALWAYS lies!
I like sweater, actually.
Oh my goodness, I love this! and I would absolutely love to be the next person in the dressing room to find it too. :) I always feel discouraged after trying on clothes at stores. Good Job Bug! and Happy New Year :)
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. And I love your way of secretly posting them here and there.
ReplyDeleteI am beautiful and I deserve beautiful things. I am beautiful and I deserve beautiful things. I am beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd so are you, Bug!
Dana, what a wonderful present to leave for the next woman.
ReplyDeleteYou are a beautiful woman.
I've been away from blog world all month and I'm just catching up. I love, love, love this idea! And I love your poem. I'm taking a copy with me next time I go into a dressing room with mirrors and horrible lighting.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I'd love to see the reactions of the people reading it.
ReplyDeleteYes you are, yes you do, but do you leave the poems for someone else to find?
ReplyDeleteThanks guys!
ReplyDeleteEllen - yes I do leave the poems behind. For all I know this one's still there. That’s the part I don’t like – I want to know what the folks who come after think about it!
I love your poem bombing escapades. This one may be your best. Indeed, mirrors lie. You are the voice of reason!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure whoever came in after you got a great lift out of that. Nice one, Dana!
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration. Ha! I would love to walk into a dressing room with a poem like that. I love these.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, Bug. I've loved visiting here. You've given me many laughs over the past year.
