Gossamer

Gossamer

The days are slim and golden.
They wash over me in waves –
long-legged beautiful people
stepping over me as I
sit, serene, on the floor.
I can hear the conversation
but the words are gossamer –
when I try to listen
my ears pass through them.
Who needs to hear anyway?
The days whisper over my head
and skip away, laughing.

This is a Magpie Tale.

  5. Beautiful. I especially like "days whisper over my head and skip away laughing." Perfect description of these Autumn days. Don't ease back in...jump back with both feet.

    1. Thanks! That's interesting to think about... I almost thought of it as a sort of eulogy for the year, but conjuring is much more positive!
